Hearing reliably that Hue Jackson, currently WR coach for Bengals, is interested in UT job. I am intrigued by the idea.

EDIT: Paul Kuharsky ‏@PaulKuharsky
Correcting Hue Jackson's current title: assistant special teams/assistant DB coach. After Oakland dumped him, Lewis shoehorned onto staff.

Not sure where he is hearing this or how an AFC South beat writer would know this, but this name is intriguing. He was a bit aloof and crazy (?) in Oakland. Still has good knowledge of the game, and would probably be the best recruiter out of every name thrown out there.

Of course he's interested. His NFL coaching career is effectively over. He had the unfortunate luck to get his first job with the Raiders. Why only 1 year, I wonder? 8-8 with the Raiders is nothing to be ashamed of, given how dysfunctional that organization as been.

Who was the last Raiders Head Coach we hired?

I could definitely get on board with this hire. He's got the resume.

What are you guys talking about by saying he was horrible in Oakland??? He had a terrible team, and went 8-8. He got one year and was canned because the new administration just wanted to get their own guy.
I'd be far happier with Hue Jackson than any of these other jokers being mentioned.

I think Oakland had an awesome running game that year. Him and Jay Graham working together could be interesting.

I think Jackson is an intriguing candidate. He certainly did a fine job with Oakland in the one season with them. UT should look into it. It sure beats the hell out of Kirby Smart.

No. Absolutely no. Here is the order the lamest of AD's should pursue:

Bo Pelini - HC, DC, SEC, good to go
Tressel - Winner at every place he has been. Depends on his show clause
Petrino - Feels dirty, but he has no NCAA issues
Davis
Chaney

Hart get on your horse and get this done. Your making our school look like a joke.

I find it interesting that he's working as the secondary coach for Cinci right now, when he's clearly an offensive guy. Good that he's got experience on both sides of the ball, I guess.
