Hue Jackson (merged)

I wasn't wowed by the job he did with the Raiders, but I remember being surprised when he was fired. Most on commentators at the time were too. I seem to remember the perception being that he he was close to turning the corner at Oakland his 3rd year would be the one to prove if he could actually do it and get them to the playoffs. One of his years at Oakland they were 8-8 overall, but 8-0 in their conference for what it's worth.

I'm not saying he's the answer at coach, but at this point it's intriguing at least.

Whats Al Davis (RIP) think about him?

Positive.

Like I said earlier. Hue wanted a physical, fast, and dirty Oakland team. Which is partially why they were the most penalized team in NFL history. That was what Al wanted. Brooklyn Dodgers and Army gave Davis inspiration for his teams.

Good show gives a little insight:

Why is it that every name that's thrown out is shot down by everyone?

There isn't a coach out there remaining (even Gruden) that will bring the UT fans together - at first. Everyone remaining will have some fans and a ton of detractors...

Hue Jackson would be the best Offensive Playcaller in the SEC. He can coach as he improved the Oakland Raiders after the Kiffin disaster. He had a top 10 running game every year. He would get who he needed to play here. This is our best option now!

I'd take him and be glad about it. But no to Jones. His name even being brought up tells me just how clueless Hart is. You don't go to Autozone to replace the engine of a Lexus.

Tennessee football goes to the Gallows today, boys and girls. Hart is the chief executioner.
