Hell to the naw......he was horrible in Oakland and really backstabbed the previous coach....huh sorta like Phil and Johnny

How was he horrible in oakland? Anybody that can go 8-8 at that pos job has to be pretty damn good. Considering the names floating around today Tubby, Bowden, Smart hell to the yea atleast interview the man.

Hue Jackson or Hugh Jackman, I would settle for either over some of the **** names that have been thrown about the last couple of days.

I find it interesting that he's working as the secondary coach for Cinci right now, when he's clearly an offensive guy. Good that he's got experience on both sides of the ball, I guess.

They made up the job to get him on staff.

My image of Hue Jackson was him losing it on the sideline last year after they beat the Texans. He let all of his emotions out.

I think Al liked him a ton. Pretty much envisioned what he saw. Dirty, physical, fast team. Partially explains them being the most penalized team in NFL history. McKenzie ran him out of town. Relates extremely well with players and young guys. He could recruit easily here. Better than anyone aside from Gruden. Really good work with quarterbacks. Some would say he was crazy or aloof. He tried to seize control after Davis died. A really emotional guy. Regardless, he wouldn't be the worst choice. I liked some of the concepts he was running in Oakland with Al Saunders.

Guys I think this guy would be a better hire than Strong would have been and would be way better than anyone else we are looking at . I say lets make him a Vol. Best part is he WANTS to be here.

"He was instrumental in the development of two first-round quarterbacks, Carson Palmer and Joe Flacco."

Yeah I'd prefer responsible for instead of this description. We already have a guy that is responsible for an NfL QB better than both of these 2 combined. So no thanks. Seems nomadic too and doesn't have the rebuilding resume we need.

Just IMHO that's all...

Why is it that every name that's thrown out is shot down by everyone. Who exactly are you expecting to hire?

If you answer Jon Gruden, then please, seek help.

I don't believe that everyone is shooting this down. I'm certainly not. If anything, the way he relates with players would make more sense at this level.

Agreed. 8 - 8 in the NFL isn't like 5 - 5 in high school. .500 in the pros means you are better the vast majority of college coaches with .650 winning percentages.

Who was an assistant with Hue on the 1989 Pacific staff? Maybe he just wants a staff position from his old friend that's going to get the job, instead.

Interview him and Greg Roman, see who comes out on top. At least you know they aren't just chasing raises.

If you are going to throw these names around I think that Kippy Brown would be something to look at as well. He really wanted the job when Lame left.

Hue Jackson says the UT rumors are news to him. Didn't have any other comments including if anyone had contacted him yet

per Joe Reedy

Nothing illuminating.

Lol at his denial. His agent is a former TN receiver. This is pretty obviously an attempt to get his name out there in the news cycle.

If this is true. That he really wants to coach here, then hell yes. At least someone wants to coach here. I'm cool with it.

Kippy isn't even a good coordinator. Why does he get so much love?
If I'm not mistaken, he was the coordinator on the Detroit team that went 0-16.
