Because that's how it's been on the Hill forever. The boosters have way to much political influence in what happens in the AD. They put their puppets in control so they can run it from the outside and then save face because they aren't directly connected to anything

If it comes out that Freeze truly wanted to be here, and the BOT or Haslam or whoever screwed it up, and we end up with someone ten tiers lower in accomplishments like any of the other frontrunners that have been named, a part of me hopes the stadium is a wasteland every game next fall and the whole AD goes bankrupt.

I never want the Vols to fail. But man would it be nice to see the morons that have brought us to this point get what's coming to them.

Happens everywhere. I have a couple of family members who are big time connected FSU boosters. Getting their way is priority number 1. If they think someone is or isn't a good hire, that's the end of it. Sad to say but money, power, and brains don't always match up. Money, power, and arrogance almost always match up. The program, the fans, and most of all the kids end up getting screwed.
