As far as insiders go, I’ve said this before: I have a friend who works IN the athletic department, and has for a long time. He rarely tells me anything, and I see him usually once a week.

That, in itself, pretty much sums up how I feel about message board “insiders.”

Through employment I had the opportunity to converse on a fairly regular basis with 4 VFLs. 2 were All-Americans and 3 played in the league, 1 of them being a HOFer I believe. Not one time would any of the 4 share anything “insider” with me other than telling me Butch would not be fired until after the Vandy game. The moral of the story is, put very little stock into all the “sources” floating around Volnation.

I can't give up my source, but it is a former legendary Vol. Coach Freeze to be announced today before SEC Championship game.

Plenty of legendary sources have misled the fans in coaching searches. That said, I hope you are right and I was just thinking that it would be a great idea to announce a home run hire before the SEC championship, so that is in the back of the minds of the kids already committed as they watch these two superpowers battle it out on National Television for the second time in two years, and quite possibly the first of two times this year and the second of three in two years.

I feel like Kamara earned the right to do whatever the hell he wants. The guy probably has a ton of friends playing today and if wants to be there to watch them I doubt it will effect recruiting much.
