He's watching offers from other schools pour in. If you were looking for a job, 5 different employers already made you offers, and you knew or suspected more would roll in, would you go ahead and choose from one of the 5, or wait until you had details on the others?

Freeze is not as popular within the coaching circles as you make it out. It's not been confirmed yet that anyone has even made him an offer. Rumor is that he's about to take the FSU job. He supposedly has a 7 figure deal with the Az Hotshots and not many programs willing to offer him a multi million dollar contract with his past! Freeze's only shot may be to FSU now but Auburn is still in play for him.

I guarantee you he's gotten multiple offers and a ton of different schools are talking to him. He's smart not to make a decision until everybody who wants to kick the tires on him has.

Tennessee has interviewed and has an opening

Gus Malzahn wants to hire him and Auburn boosters are saying no

Florida State would hire him in a heartbeat

Liberty for as small as it is would hire him if he said so

Even with those 3 options at a P5 school, he isn't getting any better job offers. If anyone thinks Enos isn't getting the OC job at Bama, they are insane. I think he's doing his due diligence with interviews, but Saban isn't gonna let him walk. Even if he did and hired Freeze, it is just shows the amount of stupidity of the UT Admin and really Tennessee as a whole.

There is only one hire here that is a true slam dunk, out of the park home run hire and that is Hugh Freeze. It isn't that hard to do.

Freeze has a ton of offers and a lot to consider. It's entirely possible he doesn't want to come here relative to the other offers he is considering. I know we all bleed orange here, but Tennessee isn't the center of the universe.

I was on board with this "does the admin even want to win" argument when we whiffed on Mullen and in response to that went straight to Schiano, but this situation is different.

Who has offered him? He's been interviewed but I don't think anyone has offered him anywhere close to a multi million contract. It'll take a million plus to get him and I don't see many schools at all willing to take that kind of financial risk. Let us know the details of all his contract offers, when you have those then I'll agree, otherwise it's pure speculation right now that he's received any good offers.

I don't know - not privy to that info, but I'd be stunned if nobody had offered him a job yet. At the very least, he has all sorts of schools calling him to talk, so they are interested. If a bunch of people are interested, he's probably getting offers. That's the obvious speculation can be made given the kind of coach he is and the schools who need an OC.

Are you basing that off of a conversation you had with Terry Bowden in 1997?

I disagree, not one school nor Freeze have come out and said an offer is on the table. I have no problem with you assuming internet gossip as fact, I just choose to not look at it that way!

You have no idea if Auburn offered or blocked it, I guess you think Gus signed a new contract lowering his buyout by millions too as reported through our VN insiders. You have no idea if FSU offered him a multi million dollar contract at this time, all you know is that he has interviewed, you're assuming everything else.

Basing that on numerous people in both the college and hs ranks that have dealt with him in the past as well as numerous people who have been around him since his days coaching hs girls basketball. He's a great coach but crap as a human being in the eyes of numerous people that personally know him. Players love playing for him as he runs a loose program, probably why the NCAA has GPS tracking embedded in his skin!

Im hearing there is a real rub with "insiders" who are being deprived of their "insider" privilege. With CJP and CPF keeping everything
under wrap, many insiders are being forced to make up stories and even, Guess, as to what is going on at UT.
One prominent insider was rumored to have said," I'm an insider dammit! and I feel like an outsider,, I am supposed to have inside info!"

Very damaged goods. He currently has a multi million dollar contract with his current job, schools are probably having a hard time justifying that kind of money for a coach with his baggage. Would your company pay someone millions of dollars with his past?
