Exactly right. He should know it's nothing personal, just have to protect the Vol family from misinformation because even the most well-intended untruth could backfire and cause damage if relied on as trustworthy. If you don't allow it through the door in the first place, it can't make off with the gold and jewels the moment you get distracted. Who knows what percentage of these Hughmors came from what rival school, agent, coach, booster, or disgruntled former with an ax to grind. The only way to do it fair is if it applies to all of them unless it's someone who can point to a verifiable source they cite. Not ole Barney from Moe's Tavern who's friends with Homer who works at the Nuclear Plant in Springfield.

You said if Freeze wasn’t announce today you’d “give up your source” and say who it was. I think we all know that no such source exists, but I’d still love you to follow through on your word and do that. I think that’s the only way to save face at this point, unless you say something like “my source is _____” with some generic info versus an actual name.
