Here’s why I’m skeptical of “sources.”

I mentioned earlier in the thread I have a family friend who works in the AD. And he doesn’t say anything. He’s pretty well connected for what it’s worth. These guys aren’t loose canons like many portray them. Maybe the boosters are more loose-lipped. Here are pictures of a private tour he gave us. The picture in the meeting room is my Dad, myself, and my brother. And also a picture of my Dad doing a push-up for stepping on the Power T lol.

What the OP needs to realize is that just because you know a former player who comes around the program occasionally that doesn’t mean they know anything. What I see most people do is when that person repeats a rumor they give it more credibility due to it being a former player. It doesnt make OP a jerk, it just means he put too much stock in someone’s opinion. I know lots if former players, used to work around program, and still know some high level people in the program. What do I usually get from them? Funny stories or something that happened around program that not a lot of people get to hear. Thats a fun part. When it comes to searches and things like that, they tend not to talk about that. I also don’t ask because it would be disrespectful. Very few people who are going to be close enough to know a hire are going to be on these message boards. Not saying they are zero, just very few.
