Hopefully it's just the token "other guy" candidate to not only show more than the slam dunk home run Freeze-hire was considered which also keeps Auburn folks happy knowing the guy they just paid the bonus to drew interest from others so that they feel good about that. Of course, even if that's the case, I don't think it's something anyone actually admits even if they think it's true.

Can’t remember: wasn’t it AV who said (quite angrily) that his group of boosters had found out that they had been played? I thought I remembered a post that he was driving up to Ktown to meet his friends and raise hell.

There was a lot of wheels-within-wheels going on that resulted in quite a bit of bitterness, even among those of us who were pretty much regarding it as entertainment.

But I do remember AV being very generous with tickets etc.

Can’t remember the poster name that got the tickets and posted we would all be surprised to know AV was. Such a crazy time.

If I recall correctly there was som deliberate misleading information being given to certain people by way of Currie. That’s part of why Currie was kicked out, he’d been lying to a lot of people to make them think we were getting an A-lister when he was trying to sneak Schiano in through the back door
