Humbly requesting help

They're doing open casket, and I don't know if I can go. I should go, but I just don't know if I can do that.
I haven’t went to funerals in years because I won’t. I’m okay with that and have my reasons. You’ll know if you need to when it comes. If you do, it’ll be because you want to say goodbye, as it should be. If you don’t, don’t let guilt make you go. Sometimes it’s better to remember the person as you remember them. Most of the time the family doesn’t remember who was there.

I can’t do open casket. I’ll attend visitation and the service, but no open casket. And for an infant? 💔

And it will be in my will: no open casket.

Thanks so much for the prayers, everyone.

She wasn't as sore as she thought she would be today and was up walking around when I got over there after school. She has non-Hodgkins lymphoma, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia (needs knee replacements), and is diabetic. She has a really hard time on good days. She said that a lot of the people from church had called saying they had been praying for her, and I told her there were a bunch of people on VN she didn't know who were doing the same. I appreciate it. She has an appointment at the cancer center on Thursday and mentioned some type of infusion.

That was the "good news" today. The "bad news" is that a former student of mine went full term with her baby, who was stillborn. The family and community is devastated. She tested positive for COVID twice after she became pregnant, too. I would appreciate it if you all would lift them up in your prayers as well.
Sorry to hear about your former students situation. Praying for her, and still your mom.

OK, Gordy, if you are going to have cancer, non-Hodgkins lymphoma is the one to get. She can be CURED. Not put in remission but cured. GVG had this last year and went through 6 chemo treatments and was done. It tears you down and will be rough on her but she sounds like she is a fighter. The cancer can be dealt with. Next thing, get her a good doc and get those knees done, they can wait until after the chemo but the knees will improve quality of life tremendously.....I have two new ones. She and the good lord have this boss, you just have to believe.

Some extra prayers needed today gang. Dad goes back to the lung doctor to see the results of the tests and x-rays. Last week he went and they said he had a lot of scaring in his lungs from COVID and had 40% air capacity. He does good unless he does a lot of walking and said the zpacks and inhalers have helped a little. Hoping for some good news today!

Update: Dr said his lungs are slowly improving and that he does have scar tissue from the COVID but it won't get any worse. He's suppose to stay on the Trelegy and his shortness of breath should improve in the next few months back to somewhat normal. Thanks as always gang for the prayers!
