Keep up or EAT OUR DUST

we will win seven games this year and we will recruit a very good class this Winter. May even pick up a couple of defensive players from the portal. We will be better next year and in 2--3 years we will be playing with the big boys. I can feel it in my old bones.

I do enjoy seeing Tennessee’s offense move the ball and score points. It’s been way too long since we’ve had such a prolific offense. But I’m quickly souring on the hurry up offense because as we all know, it puts too much pressure on the defense. No defense can hold up if they have to play 45+ minutes every game. I’m thinking if Coach Huepel is such an offensive genius he should not have to rely on a gimmicky offense to score points. If Tennessee played a more typical offense using a reasonable amount of play clock the defense might be more rested and have a chance to stop somebody. Having to rely on outscoring your opponent game after game is fools errand IMO. GBO!

We actually just need a deeper and more talented defense.

So we can see scores like:

Tennessee: 85
Kentucky: 0

…in the near future 😁

Defense needs to start stopping opponent on 3rd down. Hurry up would then be a plus.

Also when we tried to slow down with the run, it was either blown up or gashed their D.

You do realize the D is playing 45 + because they can’t stop anyone?
Because they make everyone we play look like
Kansas City chiefs 2 years ago offense.
Everyone converts 13 out of 15 3rd and longs each game.
Every QB we play looks like Lamar Jackson on 3rd and long.

Only one question...

What would the person starting this thread have said last year when we had barely an offense???

We'll be fine...We are scoring a lot of points right now, don't fix it if it isn't broken...We'll get some more depth on defense and we'll be fine.

Bull, D put pressure on itself not getting stops. They were fresh on the first Ky drive and allowed it to go the length of the feild and take up most the first quarter. We just need more depth.

This one. This is the one.

If the defense wants to get off the field, then they need to get off the field. Especially on 3rd and long.

And especially especially on 4th and 24.

No, we’ve gotten teams, including Alabama twice, not even paying attention and hit big plays in hurry up.

Our problem is the defensive roster is below average with no depth. There will always be higher scoring tight games, but the offense is far from a problem. It’s actually incredible that we led the nation in TFL and are two plays (or calls) from being 7-2.
