Hyams Just Said

Hyams is slow on reporting things at times. He is very careful in trying to report things correctly. If he said that, it means one thing, this came from a very reliable source.

It would explain our interest in Chad Kelly.

Until we develop a consistent run game I don't think it matters much who the qb is. You can't win in the sec if you can't run the ball. Not for long anyway.

Defense is keying on the RB.

A threat at QB will change that

I also hope our WR's develop. Missing too many catches and not getting enough separation from the DB's. It is a major step from HS to college even for 4 * athletes.

I think he is referring to the media speculation that in the end he will play another position. I believe CBJ plans on him playing QB unless he shows over the years he cannot. QB IMO

My super bold/optimistic prediction: JJ balls out as soon as he steps on campus. He will be the first freshman to get his stripe removed and will start. He will actually keep it a couple times a game and this will improve the running game tremendously

He's a part of the problem. He's a 5th year player.

With all due respect; if he gave his all yesterday, it simply wasn't good enough to begin with.

He's a 4th year player. And he completed about 70% of his passes yesterday. Despite horrible protection. He's doing an excellent job.

With all due respect to your post, you can say that execution was poor yesterday, but let's not go so far as to say he didn't give his all. Whorley's effort has not been called into question.

Defense is beating blocks. They aren't overwhelming the O-line with numbers and guessing on the play. They are simply getting in the backfield.

I agree. When Worley got slammed to his back and fumbled, you could see the physical impact it had on him for the rest of the game. He has stood in that mess and played at a high level for weeks while being beat like a drum. Without him they may be 0-5 and not 5 points from being 4-1 based on what I have seen of the two back-ups. On the first interception in the end zone North's feet got tangled up with the d-back and he fell. It happens. People need to get off the Worley's the problem train.

Poor Jimmy. Half the time he has "news" it's not even news anymore and the other half the time his "news" isn't even correct. It's like he's actively fighting others for the title of "worst in the business".

If I could say two things to Butch, Jake and Mahoney it would be this:

1) Everybody, including the fans in the stands, know how you are going to call the game on offense. Do something different that keeps your QB vertical and the ball into the playmakers hands quickly.

2) Play the o-linemen in the position they play their best, then play the best for each position. Then leave them there. Kerbyson has moved from RG to RT to LT since camp. Quit messing with him. One of your proven back-ups with upside was Weisman. Where is he? Kendrick started when Gilliam went down because you thought he was the next best to take the LT. Now he sits while Thomas totally falls apart. Sanders was a natural RT coming out of HS and you attempt to remake him into a G. Why? He didn't even see the field in a game first before you changed him. Stop the madness.

Spend this week and the next game on changing these two things and good luck the rest of the season.

Has Weisman played this year?

If not, maybe this is a situation similar to Jackson last year and we are trying to redshirt him.

You have to remember guys that jimmy is usually behind so he is probably just now picking up on what people talked about in offseason befor we realized he is actually a good QB

I'm hoping Jennings gets a chance. I'm becoming more and more convinced this offense needs a true dual threat to work.

All day this. Look at all the good QBs and offenses minus UGA in the country. The huge majority are dual threat.

I also think the game is evolving to where a dual threat QB is standard. Pure pocket passing quarterback play is slowly becoming obsolete in college football.
