This is embarrassing. You would think coaches would be jumping at the chance to coach here. Why can Arky, Auburn, and Kentucky find coaches so easy and we continue to get turned-down and used? I know we are down, but I didn't think we had fallen that far from being a top tier coaching position.

Maybe he is interested in honoring his commitments to the kids he wooed to UL. There are honorable people in this world, you know, and just maybe he is one of them.

Or maybe the l'ville AD is making good on his word to make charlie the highest paid coach in football. Money talks. UT should know that by now.

We haven't. Something is being hidden from us... its that simple.

What i just heard on the radio (Fox Chattanooga) was that the hang up is one of the coach's that Strong wants to bring with him. Sorry, don't remember name but they said UT does not want him near the program because he could get us in NCAA trouble. Said Strong wants him and that is the sticking point. Has anyone else heard this?

Been saying it for months. We are MAYBE a top 20 team maybe worse depending on if Hart and Cheek are clueless or not.

This could be gods blessing on us. Larry Fedora is avialable and should be our main target. He's a great coach in the waiting. He's won at every level and would be a solid hire.

So you are saying you would take Fedora over Strong?

Do you realize that Strong beat Fedora's UNC team this year, and Strong beat Fedora's Southern Miss team?

Louisville players are apparently saying he's staying. Heard on Uof L sports talk radio. TIFWIW, which probably isn't much

Strong want be in play long he is just seeing how much more Louisville is gonna dish out to him. He will stay there because they will play him enough money not to leave. Gundy just using us for a raise also he was never serious about leaving Oklahoma State. We may be back down to Dooley type coaches soon and if that happens we should go with Petrino even if he has baggage.

I think both of your points could be right and not mutually exclusive.

We might only be a top 20 program overall (arguable) but there is no doubt that of the top coaching vacancies, UT is the top shelf.

Auburn, Kentucky nor Arkansas took a coach we were reportedly considering. That is a big distinction to remember here.

We didn't get a coach pulled out from under us by one of those schools, we didn't get into a bidding war for a coach with those schools, they had their guys, we have ones we are looking at. The rest of these details are just the media trying to piece together the information they have.

I am worried, I will admit that. But I would be worried even if we were told by the AD that we had Gruden on the hook and he was going to be announced after his last game. I would still be concerned that it would fall through, if you get my point.

I got in on the tail end....the coach they are twalking about is Clint Hurtt. Said that the NCAA has been around UT too much to bring in a coach like him. Will try to get more info but they said that is what the hang up is.

I know he was tied to Miami sanctions but that wouldnt effect us.... worst that could happen is we lose him after he is hired.

I think the concern was getting Hurtt as a part of the deal and that he could be a problem here. Sounded like if Strong is hired it would be without Hurtt.

Don't get all pissy just cause Aaron Rogers stole your porn stash!

Not pissy at all. I just don't feel the need to take up for a coach on reasons why he doesn't want to be a Vol. Little do you know my avi of hostetler was when he was 14 years old.
