I 1000% do not understand this at all. :eek:hmy:

I can understand the Gundy thing, but why on holy earth would you rather stay at Louisville ? Hart needs to flex his AD muscles and get this over with . :rtfm:

Papa Johns has a lot of money. Ironic that Peyton just purchased 20 franchise locations!

My heart nor my grades can last til Dec 31. I can't even write the fu()&# history final because I have to check volnation/twitter/rivals/dave harts livingroom every 5 minutes.

Maybe you should transfer to the same junior college at which CP matriculated, get your grades up and come back to try again.

So you are saying you would take Fedora over Strong?

Do you realize that Strong beat Fedora's UNC team this year, and Strong beat Fedora's Southern Miss team?

Do you realize Fedora took a job that Harley anyone wanted and took them to the ACC championship but couldn't play die to sancations. Do you realize Fedora has won at ever level he's coached at and when he left S. Miss they totally feel apart. Every person I have talked to that's a UNC fan says Fedora will crush UNC if he leaves. They all say he's worth ethic is unreal and that everyone loves him. He's strict and a no BS type of guy. Yes, I'm saying I want Fedora over Strong.

USM fell apart because Fedora left them with no talent. We are not stupid.

Cannot believe I'm saying this but how about (gulp) Phillip Fulmer. Maybe he'll be motivated to recruit again like earlier in his career. Chaney-OC and Chief-DC. We could do worse now.

This is embarrassing. You would think coaches would be jumping at the chance to coach here. Why can Arky, Auburn, and Kentucky find coaches so easy and we continue to get turned-down and used? I know we are down, but I didn't think we had fallen that far from being a top tier coaching position.

Bielema is the only truly good hire out of this group. I think Malzahn is interesting but I'm not convinced he is a homerun type hire. For instance, I think UT fans would mutiny had we hired him. Mark Stoops is interesting at UK but nothing spectacular. Bielema could be good but I bet it takes a few years for him to transition from a spread to a power running team with huge offensive linemen. He also is going to have to make new roads in the South. In my mind, Gundy, Strong, Fedora, or Golden would be better hires because they are better fits for UT than any of the coaches that have been hired so far. In other words, I am not worried about "missing out" on any of those guys.

@ericcrawford: On that Jimmy Hyams Tweet. @rickbozich spoke to Hyams. He did report earlier that Strong had turned UT down. Says UT pursuit continues.

Also, Hyams just tweeted:

2 sources told me charlie strong told UT he's staying at louisville but UT has come back with huge counter. Strong to talk to team thurs am

Actually, this is really easy to decipher. Strong is coming to TN, otherwise he would have put the rumors down tonight. Kinda like Gruden's agent did.

it may be strong actually cares about his players and is truly having a hard time with deciding. of course, money can help with all sorts of decisions. plus if he looks to eager to jump at the first little raise it undermines his loyality to a school. i don't have a problem with him mulling it over both for his loyality to his kids and loyality to a school. that bodes well for us in the future if we get him

Yep. Either he left the cupboard bare or the new coach was hopeless.

I didn't like UNC's inconsistency this year. They got curb-stomped by L'ville first half, played like a different team second half. They won big over VT and then lost to Duke. They hung sixty in a shutout over Idaho, but then gave up 68 to a Georgia Tech team that got rolled by BYU and UGA and even lost to MTSU. They got beat by Wake Forest but managed to break their losing streak to NC State. SMH at the inconsistency. Maybe Fedora is too much about frantic energy and not enough about playing sound football and is therefore inconsistent?

Sure he's won everywhere he's been, but his record is not what UT expects of a coach. He's 42-23, all his years mediocre except for the one good year at SoMiss. Is that what we want? I don't think so. What reason do we have to think he would win more at UT than he has won elsewhere, especially with the pressure and competition being racheted way up?

I hope we can do better than Fedora. Based on his track record, he might have winning seasons, but he's not going to coach UT back to elite status.

Somewhere in Knoxville, at least a part of Dools is laughing its a** off at all the insane fans he no longer has to deal with.

I'll be just as excited about a new coach when we get one, but this drama is ridonkulous. Yet humorous.

If he's laughing, then it is because he collected $5 million for impersonating a football coach for three years.

Let me guess: you wanted to enjoy another 1-7 SEC season with Dooley at the helm

No, no, no. I'm not saying he deserved anymore chances. He got all he deserved in a result's-based business. But c'mon. We screamed for change. And we got it. This could still turn around with a good hire, but everyone's in full meltdown mode. And there's no need for that yet; not until an awful hire is made.
