I think you can understand the decision, but also be upset that he is quitting on his team before the biggest post season game we've played in over 15 years.

Maybe he is opening up the field for his teammates to get some looks. Like Keaton, this is his last time to shine for NFL scouts.

People on here that say he’s quitting on his team is BS. If you had a opportunity to make millions of dollars vs tens to hundred thousands of dollars that’s a no brainer. That’s not quitting that’s being smart. If your willing to pay him nfl money to play in this irrelevant bowl then give him a call. Unless your in the playoff this is just a glorified scrimmage with a trophy at the end, this just allows younger players to step up and carry the torch.
Go Vols!!!! Beat Clemsons’ arsss.

I have a lot to learn about how NIL is operating… One would think an NIL deal would be contingent on a player actually playing. Why would Hyatt Hotels sign a kid to a lucrative deal just for him to sit out?

I understand this but it really stinks. Completely devalues the bowl games IMO and really puts the team in a bad situation. To be clear I hold no ill will towards the kids doing it and may make the same decision in in their shoes but just stinks as a fan.

Wonder if we were in CFP if the decision is the same? If so that would really bother me as it would mean something to the team, the school, and the fanbase.

No... that's quitting. By definition, that is quitting.

Don’t blame him he didn’t want to try and catch Miltons high balls and overthrows and risk getting hurt over it. We ain’t winning this game anyway and it isn’t a playoff game.

Wish he could get the school record but what he did this season will be remembered by vol fans for decades to come. Best of luck and hope he makes a lot of money.

Why do professional players sign NIL deals? Why does Peyton Curry Lebron sign endorsement deals?

He can still represent Hyatt hotels and Bose as a pro

You can’t blame him for protecting a multi-million dollar career. Thanks for the memories! Good luck going forward and Go Vols!

The bowl.game is a 2023 preseason game. If a player isnt part of next years team they're just taking reps away from next years squad.

CFP games excluded
