I'm used to dealing with crazy UT fans! If I really hated UT I would have wanted Dooley to keep his job! As I walked through the ever growing Vandyville tailgate party this year at the Vandy UT game. Derek Dooley had A lot of support from the black and gold!

Does "ever growing" translate into from 50-100? Just wondering how many people does it take to upgrade the Vandy Snocone Stand into a "Ville"?

Two. The answer is two.

The same things used to be said about Stanford and Northwestern in their Conferences! I'm happy with going to A bowl game every year! The culture is changing here in Nashville. You used to only hear about the Titans and the Vols in this town. Now people are talking about Vandy. Vandy has won championships in Basketball and Baseball anything is possible!

Ok, I'll give you your baseball program. It's outstanding, Corbin's a great coach and a class act. I'll give you your basketball program, kinda. Been above average traditionally and had a very good run in the SEC tourney last year. Even though that team, arguably the most talented team ever at Vandy, underachieved pretty considerably. One and out in the NCAA tourney? With 3 NBA players? .... You gotta admit that, right?

Ok, onto Snakehead. I think he's a young, energetic coach who's gonna have a certain amount of success no matter where he is. But I also think he's an arrogant, petulant and at times classless a-hole. The 2 most recent examples I can think of is his reaction to Ford's decommitment and Hurd's signing with UT. Absolutely classless with his childish responses in both cases. I'll even throw in his "Nicky Satan" comment although I couldn't really care less about that. He's like a snot-nosed kid constantly crying "look at me", when nobody really gives a crap and would really prefer he just go play in traffic.

Finally, the absolute arrogance of the Pansybilt fan base is unbearable. You win 1 game vs UT's worst team in decades with your best team since the First World War (1916 or something) and all of a sudden you come on here beating your chest, trying to compare records, saying you're the next Stanford? Good God alive dude. Since 1930, UT is 69-10-2 vandy! Did you get that? I'll put it another way. Since 1930, vandy is 10-69-2 vs UT! And honestly, I can't figure out how in the hell we lost those 10.

If you guys can routinely beat UT 9 out of 10 times like we have beaten you over the last 50-60 years, then feel free to crow. Until then, shut your collective mouths and appreciate the gift that our previous incompetent coach and AD gave you last year.

While I admire your passion for your team U should respect mine! I've suffered through losing seasons for most of my 30 years! We finally have A good coach that can bring in top 20 recruiting classes. I don't rub Vandys win in the face of UT fans, they should just give Vandy props for A good season and let the best team win this year!:salute:

Actually yeah you did. The first post of yours I responded to yesterday was you comparing the records of the last 3 years and crowing about Vandy being on the rise or something. And while I give you guys some credit for getting 9 wins last year, lets face it.... no signature wins and the only team you beat with a winning record was NC State who we even best the crap out of.

The fact of the matter is, in a normal year, a 9 win season for UT has been historically a disappointment. Comparatively, last years 9 win team for you guys was the best season you've had since Woodrow Wilson's administration (the damned socialist).

No, I don't have to admire anything Vandy, just like you don't have to admire anything UT. Plus, any true UT fan would never give any other SEC opponent props, other than maybe Alabama for winning 3 of the last 4 national championships. I gotta respect em for that. Still despise em for the most part but that's still to be respected.

* better team - comparing only 2 teams, UT and Vandy. Just sayin'.

We can atleast Agree on Wilson! Vandy didn't get serious about football until 2011, even Spurrier said it! It's true Tennessee has owned Vandy historically. We beat Ole Miss too! If Tennessee had won 9 games last year Dooley would still be in town! In all seriousness if Vandy beats Tennessee this year would u want Jones fired? I hope not!

Well glad to see we agree on Wilson. It's only American. And no, I will not want CBJ fired this year under virtually any circumstance. Think we got a diamond in the rough.

This is in responce to snakehead. I've talked too coach Franklin on 2 occassions. Both times he walked up to me when he didn't have to, shook my hand and thanked me for being there and showing support to the team! Does he come off as arrogant in interviews sometimes? Yes but he's very confident in what he's doing. To win at A school like Vandy u have to have A bully attitude on the field! Other SEC schools think Vandy should just roll over like they've always done. Coach Franklin does not accept losing!

If we beat UF but lose to Vandy, that could mean Vandy is good, with a chance to compete for the SEC East. I couldn't tolerate that. I'd take the win over Vandy

Yeah, we definitely do think vandy should just roll over, no doubt. It's the natural order of things. And I can see Franklin doesn't want to accept losing by looking at his out of conference scheduling. And, he can have confidence in his program, tout his program without being an arrogant ass. Wait, forgot we're talking about Snakehead.... no he can't.

Other than Oregon, Tennessee's out of conference schedule is cupcake! Scheduling out of conference cup cakes is an SEC tradition! We played A very good Northwestern team last year and lost and Wake Forrest who we killed! UT and Vandy both beat A good NC State team! Most likely Tennessee and Vandy will go into that game this year needing to win to go to A bowl game!

Other than Oregon? Yeah, other than crossing 3 times to play a top 5 team..... nothing to it. Seriously, especially when you compare it to having to go on the road to UMass. You're right.

We play Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas A&M! All of them will be top 10 if not top 5!

I posted vandys strength of schedule on another thread. It's dead last in the SEC. Yes, 14th, based on the teams you play and their record from 2012. UTs is 7th. Most difficult is Kentucky. Just saying.

Also, we play Florida, Georgia, SouthCarolina and Alabama! And freakin' Oregon! 5 total top 10 teams.

In 2014, 2015 and beyond Pansybilt's strength of schedule will be better once UT is back to being a top 10 team. Look at it that way.

Every game in the SEC tough! So UT plays 1 more top 10 team than we do! They also both play Austin Peay, I guess Tennessee was looking for the toughest team when they scheduled that one?

Specifically with respect to this year, your first statement is defensible. In terms of our program's history, however, it is patently false. When it comes to football, no SEC university has more consistently scheduled nonconference matchups vs. marquis programs than Tennessee. We have played home-and-away series with Notre Dame (multiple times), Penn State (actually two home games as that one worked out), USC, UCLA (multiple times), Pitt (when they were a natural power) and we have Oklahoma scheduled for 2014 and 2015, Nebraska for 2016 and 2017 and USC again for 2021 and 2022 (see Tennessee Volunteers Football Schedules and Future Schedules). We also had Ohio State scheduled for this decade but the Buckeyes backed out of that agreement.

You're right that every (almost) SEC game is tough yes. So all SEC typically schedule a pretty easy ooc schedule... makes sense. But UT and some of the other big boys in the conference (LSU and Florida in particular) usually schedule some tough games outside the conference. So yes, UTs schedule outside of Oregon is easy, as it should be. 5 top ten teams in one year is enough.

Edit: just for good measure, UTs strength of schedule in 2012 was 21st in the country. Pansybilt's.... 82nd. Figures.
