I’ll tell you this: Danny White

Keep raising prices, donations, making it harder for the average man to attend the game Danny. That might work when winning but it's not substanible with mediocre play. Danny is gonna price himself out of a job if he isn't careful.
But he’s the best AD in America! He did that exhaustive search to give us our brilliant coach that has us on the cusp of greatness!

He rolled with the wrong QB for the second time since he has been here and is now discovering said QB ain’t gonna get it done.
Explain why Joe could run Heupel's uptempo offense last year vs Vandy and Clemson?

Also, explain why on Saturday vs FL, on our first possession when we ran uptempo, Joe had us in the end zone in 3 or 4 plays.

Then...... the play calls changed to the screen/run crap we'd seen in the first 2 games, despite having had success with the uptempo.

You can't pin that on Joe Milton.

If the play selections we've seen are all we can get out of this team after the play selections we saw last year, what happened?

Something has changed radically in the tempo we play most of the time and play mix.

Psst…in case you missed it…the QB and several of the WRs changed.

Hyatt, Tillman and Hooker were unavailable in the Orange Bowl vs Clemson, but Heupel's offense was still there.

This year....... yes, they're still gone, but so is the offense Joe ran in the Orange Bowl.

Is it though? Cause we arent beating Bama or UGA with that offense. At least 3 losses guaranteed plus whatever else they screw up and lose.
both those teams have their own issues to correct.stacked recruiting classes are covering up alot of their warts right now.

I sorta thought the up-tempo benefited Milton. Gives him less time to think.

Offensive line happened and Milton isn't Hooker. None of the receivers can do what Hyatt did either. He was hungry, these guys except Bru have a lot of growing up to do
bru needs to be getting 10 plus targets a game.he's our alpha dog ie juan jennings.hype is coaching scared that milton will turn the ball over.joe aint hooker and dosnt process the game as fast but has the talent to beat most everybody if hype will turn him loose.the fast pace offense is not joe's game.

I'm just at a loss why Heupel or Halzle, but certainly Heupel is responsible for UT's overall play scheme, are not running an offense which at least resembles last year's high tempo offense.

Milton DID run it relatively successfully vs Clemson, even against FL at first, and....... BOOM..... the door slammed on that offense on the next series and we saw only bits of tempo from there.

Everyone is blaming Milton, but watch the first series of the FL game or watch Vandy or Clemson. He's not Hooker but he ran the offense Heupel ran last year serviceably.

I just wonder why Heupel put a muzzle on our offense.

We're in a wait and see pattern. Yes, things look different, and it doesn't seem to work as well. Does he not trust Milton, who knows, we'll likely never know why our offense appears to have changed.

I was so pissed during the game, into Sunday...still to a degree working through it. lol
We all, including myself, need to try and take a deep breath and see how things play out. We can complain and moan about it, at the end of the day, it changes nothing. BTW, I've complained enough the last few days for 15 people. So, I'm not preaching at anyone. All I know is I don't like what I see, don't know the answer, and "we" can't fix it. GoVols!

Our administration could care less about the record. Football is paying the bills and fans continue to show up and spend a fortune every week no matter what. We all know college football is just about $$.
Your wrong, he does care. Yes we have proud fans and they support well. But we have had lean support when others were failing. But we need the support now, fans will not pack the house going 5-7 or 6-6 and underachieving every year. We wouldn’t be investing in upgrading facilities if we weren’t commited to winning. Winning is what puts folks in the seats. Thank goodness our fan base is strong, but it will not accept a bunch of losing. Again that has been demonstrated. GBO

I have a hard time believing Josh Heupel's tempo offense requires an elite QB. Imagine fielding an offense for college that requires so much processing only an NFL caliber QB can run it. I don't think that's the case. Brandon Wimbush???? ran it at UCF.

As I said, I'm at a loss that the tempo is slowed way down and the play calls are not stretching defense to find the seams and mismatches.

I'm not on the ledge, the season isn't over, nor any of that but stepping back and looking at the post-Hooker games last year vs this year's playbook, it's like we hired a new head coach with a new offensive mindset.

Halzle, just commented: there's nothing about the operation of the Tennessee offense that would improve with Nico Iamaleava at QB right now because Joe Milton III is "operating at a really high level."

He'd better be concerned. Team was totally outcoached

Agreed

All coaches get outcoached, even good ones. I know football is a 60 min game but we lost the game primarily in the 1st half. Perfect example was when we went down and scored with ease on our first possession. At first I thought we could have our way on offense but that never happened. UF's defensive coaches adjusted right away to our offense and didn't allow any more points until the game was essentially out of reach for us. Tim Banks was unable to adjust on the fly and had to wait until half time. It was too late by then.

I agree that our AD is only "committed to winning" when the fanbase quits spending money. Fortunately or unfortunately, our fans are the best in the nation and have supported this program despite our AD bringing in coaches like Dooley, Jones, and Pruitt, which does not exhibit a commitment to winning. CJH? Remains to be seen. Last year was fun except for the one disaster via uscjr. This year? Not so much. People are still filling the seats and spending the money. TV deals are great too. Football is doing it's job to pay the bills. Danny White is not concerned with whatever record we end up with this year.

Typical UT Coaching. Stick with the game plan even if it ain't working, since that's all they know. Nobody ever learned by watching Spurrier on the fly.....Or they just don't have a feel for the game (IN-Game) which really should be a requirement for the job? Seems to me. This is why Coaches always get fired. Not really qualified in the long run.; they make a big splash tied to a great Head Coach; get hired and elevated at another place and it takes 2-3 seasons to find them out. Like the Michigan St Interim Coach "Anxious to show what I got." And last week He did.

We shall see and he deserves time to build the program (bold comments). Honestly, he has earned it from the fans too imo. Hell, we haven't had a contender in two decades and he gave us one last season.
