I’m betting Young doesn’t play

DIdn't Saban play Tua late in a game where he wasn't needed and he ended up getting hurt? I remember Saban getting dumped on for that. He'll get ripped to shreds if BY gets hurt again for coming back too soon.

Careful, a bunch of women are about to come in here and lecture you about how dirty that is to say.

This one agrees with him and won’t complain a bit about that big yardage penalty, just don’t get tossed out over it. Take him to the ground or make him roll out to the right and throw cross body or just constantly hurry up his internal timing.

If he were anywhere close to 100 percent last week, he would have played against TAMU, a game that came down to the last possession and a team Bama struggled to put away.
Bama still has to play Mississippi State and at Ole Miss and LSU.
On paper, Bama wins those, but on paper it was unlikely we beat Pitt, Florida, and LSU when two of those were road games.
Who knows what will happen in the SECW?
If Saban wants a better chance at a potential tiebreaker, he will not risk playing Young this week.
Alabama never gave up the lead. Had they needed a comeback, Young may have played.

I think Mildew will start against Tennessee and Tennessee will have to hold off an Alabama comeback late to win 37-35 over Alabama after having a large lead.

Agree 100%. Saban needs Young for Ole Miss and Miss State. He can get to ATL with a loss to us.

I feel the same way about Cedric, we need him worst for the Dawgs. Win that game and we get a trip to ATL for what could be a rematch of this game!

OK, who you betting and what you betting? I mean, if you're betting a Moon Pie and an RC Cola, than thread should be dismissed. However, you betting $50,000 and dinner with Paul Finebaum, then we will all know that your thread is to be taken seriously. Right?

Dinner with Finebaum is a prize? In what bizarro world is that?

I hope he does play.I want to beat them at their best not back into it.
A W is a W.

Is Bama backing into a win if Tillman is out?

Now, I agree I do not want any talking heads to say “UT got lucky because Bama was without their Heisman QB, so I want to win at their best. But then again, I would take a W no matter how it came.

For Saban to play this kid if he is anything else than 100% is beyond coaching malpractice, not only because of what a further injury does to Alabama's national title hopes, but also to the future of a kid who will be a top 3 NFL pick.

Alabama isn't hurt by a loss here with regard to winning the West and getting to Atlanta, and a win there gets them in the playoff. The reality is that while this is a huge game for us, other than the '3rd Saturday in October' stuff it is just another SEC road game for Bama, albeit one that is getting a ton of national attention.

I want Young to play and be 100%, but Saban is a fool if he isn't taking the long view.

No one is 'backing into a win' in a game like this, period.

I feel the same about Tillman as Young - Heupel needs to take the long view because there is still a ton of football left after Saturday. And the way he has developed these WR's, it's only going to make us that much better when Tillman does return 100%.

As much as it would suck considering that I’m a Hooker fanboy, let them try and see what happens. They’ll regret unleashing the beast we call Milton. Our backup >>>> Bammer backup

If Hooker gets knocked out and Milton leads Tennessee to victory over Alabama, he would instantly become a Tennessee legend. That story would go down in Tennessee lore with Condredge hopping out of an ambulance to lead the Vols back. And it would be a great redemption story after the last play of the Ole Miss game last year.

I think based on watching his injury occur he needs surgery for a torn labrum. They are saying AC sprain to cover up the real diagnosis.

The underhanded tossing during warmups last week is indicative of a shoulder that is not healthy.
That's a 2 to 6 week heal time.

I got a feeling he won't play. Saban would absolutely try to minimize injury and hide how badly he might be hurt. JMO, could very well be wrong.

Hooker got stronger over the off season. He has taken shots that would have knocked him out of the game last year.

My opinion.....With the popularity and easy access to sports betting a lot of the injury cat & mouse stuff is manipulating betting odds. sure there is a certain degree of leaving the other team to plan for multiple scenarios but the $ drives everything.

If he needs labrum surgery, he's done for the year anyway so what's Bama or Young's advantage to putting it off?

If he really can't play, he can't play so the sooner he has surgery, the sooner he can prepare for the next step, which is more important than Bama playing games with his healthcare.

I don't see it. If he needs labrum surgery, he'd get it ASAP. To think Bama is somehow "decoying" by withholding surgery for a kid who already won the Heisman and has a sure NFL career ahead is a huge stretch in my mind.

Young is already wealthy, already has a Heisman, and is assured of a shot at the NFL. There's zero reason for him to play games with his future.
With labrum surgery it's 2 to 6 weeks to heal
With a shoulder separation sprain it's 4 to 6 weeks depending on how severe . With this being his throwing arm he would be putting his season at risk with another good hit and he will make it to where it's easier to be dislocated in the future putting his career in danger.
