exhibition or no, UFs d sucks and the best player graduates this spring (theoretically)?

I actually thought the unit that played the worst for UF today was the O-line. Michigan was in their backfield all day. Harvin and Tebow took a lot of hits in the back field.

I am glad UT didn't have to play Michigan yesterday.

I think Mich. had there minds made up, they were going to win whoever they played yesterday. It just so happen to be Fl. It was Mr. Carr last game and there new boss was at the game. :dunno:

you were the one on here a few weeks running your mouth because hat was calling the outback bowl a garbage game and now you say this?

I wasn't "running my mouth." Not sure what you are speaking of. I am sure I said that it was a good match-up (UT-Wisconsin) and that sort of thing. I mean, they were both entertaining games to watch, weren't they?

Don't misunderstand, I don't like losing. But its championships we want and by which we measure our progress. At least you guys can say you were SECE champs this year. Florida won absolutely nothing this year of any consequence.

How many fresh/soph where starting on Florida's defense?

A positive for us next year is that 16 of our starters return. But, having said that, if the defensive returners don't spend a lot of time this summer figuring out how to cover receivers then we are in sorry shape.

Michigan was clearly the more motivated team, that's true. But Florida had their chances and we had the lead with 5 minutes to go. Its just that, once again, our defense could not stop anyone and Michigan went right down the field and took the lead and then the offense came out flat with 2 minutes to go and couldn't get it done.

At just how bad our defense is. This is the first game I've seen them in person this year and they are beyond atrocious. We got very little pressure on Henne and we couldn't make any plays in the passing defense.

I know people are going to want to criticize Tebow, but he played just fine. It didn't help that the offensive line didn't show up.

We scored 35 points. That's enough to win. Giving up 41 is where we fell short. And if we don't make MASSIVE improvement there, its going to be a long year in 2008.
Two things to point out here.
Thanks to Florida I will have to hear about how bad Michigan beat Florida probably all year, since my inlaws are from Michigan and secondly, I know I'm going to the UT/UF game in Knoxville now next season.Should be sweet!

Sorry about the crap you will get from them. Want my new hat, the one I wore to the game? It is has the score of the App State/Michigan game on it. I'll send it you, gratis.

I called you LAW before the game.

Got the message late. Thanks for the call. Did you enjoy your game? Weather was overcast for ours throughout.

Nah, that's okay. A little research and I found where Wisconson beat them by 16, so I should get some play out of that.

LG, two things I haven't heard mentioned--I thought Meyer made two horrible decisions:faking the punt deep in his own territory, which he got away with, and going for it on his own 25 with 3 minutes left and three TOs in his pocket. If either of those gambles don't work, he loses. The second one didn't, and he lost. Being gutsy, being a gambler, and being silly are two different things. I thought Urban was Mumme-esque on those two, and unsound coaching helped cost them any chance to win the game.

I argued this with a guy at work this morning. That second one didn't hurt them. Had they gone ahead and punted, the end result would have been the same. He took that extra down to try and get up the field. They still got the ball back down by 6 instead of down by 3. A touchdown would have taken care of things, and going for it the series before gave them an extra down to try and get up field.

That second one didn't hurt them.

It could have, and it might have; they were down 3 at the time, and it is much easier to drive into FG range than get the TD. Expect Michigan to run it into the line 3 times. The difference was, in that situation, you've gifted them a FG and a 6 pt advantage.

I still think it was the wrong call.
