LOL, I am just the opposite, when I was younger I believed in voting for "my guy". Now that I am older and have much more to lose, I can't bring myself to cast a vote that has the possibility of putting a socialist into office that will destroy the last vestiges of this country for my kids and ensure that I will be working until I die.

Obama and Romney are pretty much equal when it comes to socialism. Obama outwardly supports it more, but they behave the same.

Not him alone, but I trust he will assemble a good team. He has real world experience and has had a real job before. Am I 100% sure I know what he will do in office? No. But I know we can't afford another 4 years of this clown and there is no telling what he will do when he has 4 years and does not have to worry about another election.

100% sure I like this post.

The only way we are going to right the ship is to shake up the major parties and the only way we are going to do that is if a significant percentage vote for the 3rd party. If enough of us vote 3rd party we can make a difference. It is a risk, but it is a risk I'm willing to take.

Its not happening in 60+ days with $14K in the bank. The Tea Party has changed things for the better. You live in PA, where a 3rd party vote is voting for Obama

Like I just said....it's too much for an auditorium full of geniuses.

The belief that I cling to is that Romney will believe that he has someone to answer to. Barry believes that everyone has to answer to him.

Voting for a non-candidate is the same as not voting. It might be acceptable when we get the ship righted (if ever) and we are back to voting between capitalists, however, when we are in a fight for our very survival as a country, a third party vote is a cop out.

a person on the ballot in all 50 states is a non-candidate? He's actually the only serious candidate out there that could get me to the polls

Since I live where the chances that Obama will carry the state are about the same as mine, I will go ahead and vote my conscience.

Gary Johnson

And the one candidate on the ballot in all 50 states that stands not one chance in hell of winning. A moral victory for GJ may lead to a real victory for Barry. I can't afford that.

What has changed? We hit $16T yesterday and the GOP candidate isn't showing me anything that makes me think he will reverse that.

Makes perfect sense. I just wonder what people in PA, FL, OH and Iowa will do.

yet you won't even consider voting for a guy that will actually work to fix the issues?

candidates can't win without votes. There is the real possibility that my vote (and my wife's) now will lead to some major changes in the near future. I will probably vote GOP for Congressional races because that will have an impact also.

The major change will be giving Barry 4 more years but if you and the others here and comfortable with that then have at it.

Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost. Oh yeah, it also helps if you're rich and your Dad was President.
Amended for historical accuracy.

I'm not comfortable with Barry or Mitt. Can't believe anybody is, to tell you the truth. I don't get how fiscal conservatives can stand to even look at Romney. I don't get how social liberals can stand to even look at Obama. They'll each vote for their respective guy, though. And it'll just keep on going like this until the floor caves in.

It's impossible to pull away Gary Johnson support with that though. They're smart people and clearly have factored that into their decision already.

Here is how I see it, ANY vote for Johnson is a vote for Barry. If it weren't that way IMO, I would vote for Gary Johnson. But until I can assure myself that the first statement isn't true, I can't vote for the guy I want, I have to vote against the guy I don't want.

Nobody is claiming that we have the perfect candidate. Depending on the outcome in November, the electorate will pull a little left or right in 2014 and force a correction.
