Goodness!!!!
I am not saying that we should settle on being mediorce as a mens basketball program, however; from past experience, no one wants the job here.
We fire Martin, then go through a lengthy interview process for fove or six weeks. Hart has a list of ten candidates and none of them want the job. Hell, most of them won't even accept an invitation to interview for the job.
Then of the list of ten candidates, we end up hiring # 11. Our "B" list of candidates.
Meanwhile, all of the recruits grow weary of the process and they decommitt and sign elsewhere.
Now, (1) we end up with a coach that is equal to/ of less than Coach Martin. (2) we pay Martin a buy out (3) We lose our recruiting class for this year.
Seems like a losing venture to me!!!!!
The alternative is to keep Martin, continue to under achieve but sign the current recruiting class.
Neither is an ideal option.
