I believe that, to some extent, Bama gets preferential treatment

And the new CFP rankings prove it. 8 undefeated Power 5 teams, and Bama is ahead of 5 of them.

Well.. They have won 3 of the last 5 national championships. They deserve the hype. They have a great coaching staff.

Just building up the LSU game for the weekend ratings. If they beat LSU they deserve to be there, if they don't they won't be there.

Preferential treatment? No. Preferential treatment is if they had Ohio State's schedule. They've played 4 straight games against teams who could be in 1st or 2nd place in any other league in the country. And won all of them... And then they get the #2 ranked team in the NATION next. If they beat LSU I don't think they even need to win the SEC to get in the playoff

Bama would prolly beat every one of them too, some like a drum. UT wins a few natties and almost, save one fluke "kick-six", a threepeat, and we will get the same treatment.

I do too, but they have earned a little of the benefit of the doubt. Also if they loose to LSU this this weekend it wont matter because they will be eliminated anyway. So it doesnt bother me too much.

I asked a Bama fan about preferential treatment. He said he, "ain't got no preferential in need of treatment." Said he bought a water treatment thingy a few years ago, though.

1. This is why we need an 8 team playoff. Force the B12 to have a championship game, let the winner of each P5 have an automatic bid and leave 3 spots for potential wild cards like Independents (Notre Dame types) or G5 teams with a strong resume (Memphis or Houston if they beat Memphis, for instance).

2. I think a team that manages to be unbeaten most definitely deserves that spot more than Bama. I mean can you imagine how mad we'd be if we were undefeated, but someone else with a loss gets in? What kind of message does that send to the players and fans? Basically "hey congratulations on the perfect season, but we're rewarding the chance at the ultimate victory to someone who has a loss, but it was a good loss!"

While this is some wonderful righteous indignation, you are worrying about something that is impossible. If Bama wins out, there will be, at most, 3 undefeated teams. A one loss team will have to be included.

Probably where we are headed but it will be a while.

Alabama gets preferential treatment? Is water wet? Is the sky blue?

I hate it but they have been the big dog of the SEC for a long time. The SEC is the premier college football conference. So of course, they get preferential treatment.
