I blame this loss on Cameron Carr

I will explain more clearly. Must be some afternoon drinking going on.

Awaka rebounds. Florida kicked out tail in rebounding on both sides of the court.

Awaka plays tough and does not get pushed around.

Awaka gets fouls called on him. Maybe we wouldn't have had everyone else in foul trouble if he was still here...just him.
LOL. Bless your heart.

Awaka would have got abused by Florida’s bigs.

He’s very undersized for his position.

Florida played better in the paint and had more depth. Beating Auburn and Florida back to back was a tall order to begin with. In any case, we see where we land in two hours and everyone is 0-0 now.

And we finally get a one game reprieve at minimum from SEC play!

I’m not sure what he is offering us that changes the game today… maybe he takes fouls away from Mashack and Igor but he’s not providing scoring and that was missing bigly from our front court.
Maybe a few more rebounds and takes some of the physicality load off our other bigs but that’s about all. He’d have been in foul trouble in about 5 minutes.

The restraint that Okpara played with when he got 4 fouls was encouraging.

True. On a day we needed all the scoring we could get, not having one of our two reliable perimeter shooters was death. Chaz could never get in any kind of rhythm due to foul trouble.
He came out after sitting for quite a while and got an open 3 he normally knocks down in that situation

I’m failing to understand the Awaka hype when this game showed we needed some front court scoring. Awaka wasn’t some offensive threat we could depend on to score points.
Agree to disagree - Awaka is a competent low post, back to the basket scorer.

Which is where Awaka could have helped.
I liked Awaka too but especially in a game like today…he’d prob fouled out in the first half. But I agree…we could have used his 5 fouls…Hopefully he’s improving that part of his game.

Blame Aidoo. He was staying. So Awaka decided to leave. Then Aidoo left.

Actually blame Kentucky for running off Cal which led to Aidoo leaving for Arkansas.

Agree to disagree - Awaka would have matched up fine against the Washington transfer.
I'm not sure why Awaka is brought up anymore. I'm not speaking of you specifically either. We've been without him all facking year. There's no reasonable way to know what the dynamics of the team would be with him. We probably wouldn't have Okpara. Same with Aidoo. Probably wouldn't have Milicic either

It was honestly more about having one less big. Having JP Estrella, over Carr, would have been far more beneficial. We couldn't get much offense in the 1st half inside, were put rebounded, and had to put guards up against UFs bigs.
