Interesting to me that we again "imoroved" despite the loss.
Math is not a substitute for wins, but it's interesting to note.
Bamawriter is this more an indication of who we played or how we played? I dont remember how your system rates that stuff.
Here's why this happened:
1. The system does not look at names; it is purely math and nothing but math. So the fact that Florida beat Auburn doesn't give Florida any numerical advantage over Auburn.
2. Auburn retains such a high score because their strength of schedule is an amazing 80.2222, the 4th best in the country. Despite beating previously unbeaten Auburn, UF's is a putrid 28.7222, good enough for 122nd.
It appears they just don't have a team capable of beating a P5 team this year. Ball St and Kent St are an early 2-0 in conference play, but they are a combined 6-6 overall with 5 of their 6 combined losses being to P5 teams. For example 2 of Kent St's 3 losses are to ranked P5 teams, and the third was to an improving Arizona St team that is now #17.Editorial Comment:
Can someone explain the MAC to me? It's usually a decent mid-major conference. But this year there doesn't seem to be a single decent team. The highest ranked team is #65 Western Michigan (110.5939). The remaining 11 teams are ranked 79th or worse.
