The AF game surprised me as I had picked UT to win by a landslide. I didn't realize UT had some injuries at the time.I don't know what it is, but I don't have a good feeling about the game saturday. i don't know if it's because we're coming off a near-loss to air force or what, but we're missing our best defensive lineman and a dang good corner. the running game, although decent, hasn't fully stepped up yet. we can't expect ainge to go 24-29 for 300+ yards and 3 tds every game.
i think tennessee still has a good chance to pull one out just because we're playing at home though.
thoughts?
My prediction of the margin is based on two things. The overconfidence being shown by UF and the teamsmanship of the Vol players. They are tight and when it comes to big games that means alot. UF sounds a whole lot more like a bunch of individuals... and Meyer strikes me as a Prima Donna who is totally impressed with himself.
You are being a pansy. I definately dont want u cheering for us if you arent confident. We only want people to think we are going to win to cheer for us.
I wouldn't think you would. It is implicit in the way Meyer, Leak, et al are talking about the game.Other than a preseason quote about a desire to start "getting in their kitchen" which applied to all road teams, and a more specific one about wanting to get a shutout against UT (you want your D to feel that way, just not publicly say so), I don't see a whole lot of overconfidence by UF.
Raines specified UT as a shut out victim... I'm not sure you need much more than that.If you haven't noticed, there's been an incredible lack of smack this week from players and coaches on both sides of the ball.

"That's all we're aiming for right now," Thomas said. "I feel like we can. We can shut them out. We can shut out any team if we play to our expectations."
In preparing to face talented wide receivers, doing extra tacking drills usually isn't a prominent part of the practice plan for cornerbacks. But then Tennessee's wide receivers are more than just fast and talented.
They're also big and strong, UF coach Urban Meyer said.
"A lot of those big plays against Cal (in UT's opening victory) were 6-yard throws where the corners fell off of them because they're big, strong, fast players," Meyer said. "We've been working on tackling. We had extra repetitions with our cornerbacks tackling today. I think their biggest asset is they are big, strong, physical receivers that you like. And they have great speed on top of that."
Tennessee's most dangerous offensive weapon has been wide receiver Robert Meachem.
"He is one of the best receivers in the SEC," Meyer said.
UF's defensive front seven also will be facing a tough test against Tennessee's physical running game, Meyer said.
"Southern Miss and Central Florida don't recruit the players Tennessee has," Meyer said. "It's a major step up...
