Berating them by accusing them of being needy for the attention, informing them how wrong and hypocritical they are for being needy, and refusing to believe that they are actually needy is not helping.
Is not helping what? Let us know the point and we'll work it out so you don't have to be cryptic to sound like you know WTF you're talking about.

Remember that weird, manufactured, hyperintense Varsity Blues ripoff halftime speech?

I don't wish the guy bad luck at all; in fact I actually hope he makes it. I also probably share many of his religious views but I've got to tell you, every time he opens his mouth, my cheeseball detector goes off.
I liked how effective his Johnny Moxon act worked against Alabama this year.

It's easy not to focus on NFL millions when you're not talented enough to make them. If you are naive or mentally deficient enough to buy Saint Timothy's act, have it. Me, I'm just hoping the goof gets drafted by someone who has a preseason game with Baltimore. That's the only time he's going to see the field and I really want to see Ray Ray or E Reed detonate that clown once before he permanently heads to The Phillipines to cut on young boys' genetalia.

I guess where we differ is where you maintain its an act. I would agree that it can come across as contrived, but I don't think he is being disengenuous as much as he's trying to say what he thinks people expect of him (with the exception of the religious stuff).

He might well do very poorly in the NFL, I'm sure. But I can't root for that to happen. I just see no value to that.

Don't try so hard as it makes you look silly. I meant I would hand my dictionary to him to fill his need in failing to understand why sanctimony was applicable.

I understood you. And I understand why you think "sanctimonious" is apt, though it isn't.

I don't think it's even intentionally sanctimonious. Tebow comes across to me as a guy who has to constantly think about how to act to the point that he comes across awkwardly and programmed.

Then why would I need a new dictionary?

My sanctimony is a lot closer than your guesses as to why Tebiw gets run down. It isn't remotely jealousy or losing.

Exactly my point, thanks.

I simply don't believe you. I think that is exactly what it is.

Understandably, just as most vols have wanted to defeat Tebow and the Gators on the field. They now want him to fail in the NFL, to fail in life, and/or to not be the successful, positive, hardworking, quality, giving, spiritual college graduate that he has exhibited since the media scrutiny began (5+ years). Preferably, with as much public humiliation and degradation as possible.

That and only that will allow many vol fans to sleep and move on with their lives.

I've come to realize those are just the cold hard realities of how many vol fans feel. Free, sad country. But, knock yourselves out.

No hard feelings on my part.

Not saying you were one of them, but I find it quite ironic and hypocritical that many of the same people who dislike Tebow's "antics", were at one time raving about grown men ripping their shirts off in front of a bunch of kids.

I don't care. It isn't. I've said from day 1 that the guy is a system QB and that the in your face dumbed down Christianity is annoying. Mugging for the nearest camera, faux rah rah leadership etc have made him annoying.

I'm telling you that my calling you sanctimonious in your OP is one helluva lot closer than your call of my issues with Tebow.

They're not remotely the same thing. One is group of salesmen making sure their brand is differentiated from everyone else. The other is a Jesus Freak babbling at his peers. I hope he tries that rah rah garbage once in an NFL huddle. Watching his teammates laugh in his face would be priceless.

If that were true, then why aren't there more threads flaming Saban/McElroy/Ingram? They're our biggest rival and I'm far more concerned about them than UF.

They are exactly the same thing. A rather silly demonstration by one (or more) individuals trying to motivate and encourage others. I can't claim to be a lip reader, but I seriously doubt TT referenced Jesus one time during his "Johnny Moxon" speech.

Suck it. The nation has had to listen to this Bible thumping rube pontificate for three solid years. We've seen his speeches treated like they were The Sermon On The Mount. We've watched him Gator Chop like he was The Man after riding his defense to a National Championship last year. We watched him be invited to the Heisman ceremony this year when he wasn't one of the 20 best players in the country. Now, we get to see him make a fool of himself. I am going to enjoy it immensely.

priceless

could not have been directed at a more deserving player or fanbase.

I would think you are right that he would not be very popular with NFL teammates. Aside from the issue of whether his enthusiasm would be off putting, his lifestyle is likely not going to go over well.

Having said that, allow me to post a recent photo of Tebow and his ACTUAL girlfriend, Janell Wheeler....
