I feel bad for Stokes

Remember the first few games he stepped on the floor, no one could handle him.
He needs to get real nasty, real quick, You know work up a lather on ocassion

that's because he was playing ball. This staff takes the ballplaying out of everyone except McRae and that's because he has to basically pull up from anywhere when the O stalls.

Heard a analyst on the radio who said Stokes was better in high school than he is now. Not sure that bodes well for CM as a coach who develops players.

He was bigger than everyone in high school and now he's stuck between positions...he needs to catch and go instead of catching, dribble, pivot, wait of the defense and then go up and get blocked! ....He's just not a great basketball player, I bet he would make one hell of a Left Tackle though!

If we was just 3 inches taller he would be a in the NBA by now. It's tough to be a 6'8 power forward who prides himself on physicality but is exposed in length. You can see the frustration on his face. Unless Stokes develops a new sense of quickness and explosiveness, I don't think his NBA future is looking too great. Hopefully he gets back into his groove because he wasn't the offensive rebounding monster we have all grown to love today. Credit to Wichita State game planning well on that aspect.

yea tell David West that.. or maybe Charles Barkley who was like 6'5

and the title is of this thread is "I feel bad for stokes".. you should considering your giving him no shot of being successful in the league

Barkley and West both had/have a decent jumper, post moves and a nasty streak. 3 things Stokes doesn't, bad comparison.

yea i was speaking to the part about it being tough to be a 6'8 power forward who prides himself on physicality but is exposed in length.

Now tell me neither one fits in that category

Yeah, during the game I said to myself, "I can't believe people are talking about Stokes and AJ Johnson going pro early; I just can't see either having the skill to play at that level."

Well they're not exposed by length so they don't.

I guess Larry Johnson from the old Charlotte Hornets wasn't either?

You are using all stars with great offensive games as a comparison as to why Stokes will play in the NBA? Seriously? Those guys could get around being shorter because they had tremendous offensive skill sets, Stokes doesn't. Its not rocket surgery.

Did I seriously just see a Stokes and Larry Johnson comparison? smh Man I think you're pissing in to the wind with this guy.

There are a lot of unathletic guys playing in the NBA . Kevin Love is a perfect example . He just uses proper technique rebounding and added a nice jumper.

Im not debating whether or not those guys could get around better or not offensively.. Im speaking simply to the fact of being undersized and a level of physicality. Yea they were far more superior than Stokes atp offensively but whose to say he could never develop to be able to consistently be productive night in and night out offensively?

He was unstoppable in College and early in the NBA. Injuries slowed him down.

Yep, his UNLV teams were my favorite non UT team ever. They were awesome and LJ was a complete beast. Hated the way his career ended, was basically just a jump shooter.

The problem is Stokes isn't improving his offensive game now, so I doubt that he suddenly does in the pros. He probably has a Reggie Evans type career honestly. Not a knock btw, Evans has been a solid rebounder and role player.

Gets his shot blocked more than any 6'9" player I have ever seen. Can't get off the floor, no explosiveness = No NBA in his future.

Stokes is a good guy, good rebounder, and a solid college basketball player. but he can not jump and has no quickness. He is not very good shooter as well. He will have to improve greatly to make a NBA roster for more than a week or two.

Hey dudes getting paid to be in the league. Lol Seriously though with Stokes skill set, that's who I see. And being like RE will keep him in the league. IMO I hope he becomes more, but right now I just don't know. Hell give me a RE career and his money and I'll be a happy man. :)

I would like for 1 time for him to get pissed and see what he really could do, I bet he would play like a all SEC player, plays in slow motion someone needs to light a fire under his azz and get him jump started.

Seem like Stokes is the same now as the day he came here maybe 20 pounds lighter, I thought by the time:eek:hmy: he was a junior he would be a top 10 pick in NBA draft.
