I hate Bama, but...

Ignorant comment to make. Plenty of people have tattoos but that doesn't make them a scumbag. I have tattoos... my wife has a half sleeve tattoo. Doesn't make us "scumbags." We aren't perfect by any means but we are both very active Christians here in Knoxville.

AJ's NFL career might flop...but hey, at least he will get a shot. More than 99.9% of the rest of us can say. And AJ is doing stuff like this all the time. I hate Bama...but I genuinely respect McAaron. Just like I hate Florida, but Tim Tebow might be the only Gator I ever cheered for because of the person he is off the field.

He's just mad because he had to get up at 3am this morning to go make the donuts

Good post. It is sad that the haters love to tear down the ones that try to do good.

I think a good deed is perfectly acceptable and admirable in today's age.

But I also remember how childish he was in the game against us and the comments he made in the immediate aftermath. He still has some growing up to do.

Most 22 year olds do....

Actually met AJ at Willow Point CC in Alexander City, AL. He was taller and thinner than I expected and the guy has got an obsession with tats for certain which to each his own, I personally hate needles so you know my stance...

Guy was very nice and especially so to my kids. He asked my son who he liked better, Auburn or Bama and he said he didn't like either...he is a Tennessee boy which of course I loved. McCarron respected that but still signed a ball for him. We were all there for a charity for Children's Harbor so this is not his first gig at helping kids. The guy is alright in my book.

I have no doubt that collegiate athletes at every school are doing things like this. And that's awesome. Obviously being the quarterback for Alabama comes with more publicity...but so what?

On the gridiron, there is no one else I'd rather see Tennessee beat into a bloody pulp than Alabama or Florida (or Vanderbilt recently)...Off the gridiron and away from football, I have incredible respect for a lot of those same guys I want to demolish on Saturdays.

His chest tattoos reveal who he really is: a scumbag. Let's see how many sick kids he helps after his NFL career flops. This is all PR.

Dude, get a grip. You are obviously one to judge a book by its cover. The next time you feel like talking down about other people and judging them by their looks you should probably pick up a bible and read what it says about judging others.

Every fanbase has people just like that guy that poisoned the trees at Auburn. They may not actually be so retarded that they commit a felony out of hate for another team, but they will no matter what hate players for opposing teams simply because of their jersey and never give credit for anything they do off of the field.

Character is character, regardless of what color the jersey is.

I probably hate Alabama worst than any of you guys, but I care about people who take the time to help needy children.. So I think what A.J. Done is fantastic, no matter what school he plays Qb @..

...things like this make me respect the hell out of AJ McAaron. He seems like a real class act.

AJ McCarron's Friendship With A Cerebral Palsy UA Student - YouTube

I liked McCarron until he called CBJ out for disrespecting him and Alabama by calling them " The red team". Unfortunately, McCarron is a redneck and too stupid to realize that CBJ was giving Alabama ultimate respect by not referring to the as the best team in the country in an effort to get our guys to play in a positive mindset.

With that being said...AJ...You are a kid and more than likely will follow the rest of the UA QBs in the NFL since Richard Todd and will be an ace clipboard holder. For you to call out an SEC coach at your level shows you are not only a small minded child...you lack discipline and respect of those in authority and you will surely fail at the next level.

So, it's okay for UT's coaches and players to use a motivational tactic, but not Bama's. I get ya.

I think what the poster was getting at is. McCarron could have come across a classy saying "We took it as an honor that the Orange team thought so much of us that they changed their approach to the game. As it is we met the challenge." something like that says way more and doesn't come across as a spoiled rich brat that he did.
