I hate Bama, but...

I think what the poster was getting at is. McCarron could have come across a classy saying "We took it as an honor that the Orange team thought so much of us that they changed their approach to the game. As it is we met the challenge." something like that says way more and doesn't come across as a spoiled rich brat that he did.

So, Bama's players should be classy even when their opponents aren't. I think I'm still following.

I liked McCarron until he called CBJ out for disrespecting him and Alabama by calling them " The red team". Unfortunately, McCarron is a redneck and too stupid to realize that CBJ was giving Alabama ultimate respect by not referring to the as the best team in the country in an effort to get our guys to play in a positive mindset.

With that being said...AJ...You are a kid and more than likely will follow the rest of the UA QBs in the NFL since Richard Todd and will be an ace clipboard holder. For you to call out an SEC coach at your level shows you are not only a small minded child...you lack discipline and respect of those in authority and you will surely fail at the next level.

Not sure if serious.

If UT came off back to back national titles, and a rival coach referred to you guys as "the orange team", I'm guessing more than a few folks here would have a problem with it.

In and of itself, I don't think the "red team" thing was a big deal. I totally understand what Jones was trying to accomplish. I think his execution left a lot to be desired, but that's not the issue. I'm certain that he meant no disrespect.

That said, some folks need to understand that motivation cuts both ways. There wasn't a single Bama player on this year's team who had ever taken a snap in a game against UT where Bama didn't wind up winning by 31 points. Big rivalry aside, it's not easy to get up for a team that you can't remember being competitive with you.

For those arguing that the "red team" talk should have been seen as the ultimate sign of respect, maybe you should take pride in the fact that McCarron thought enough of Tennessee to get pumped, when he had no legitimate reason to view Tennessee any differently than any other opponent.

The point I was trying to make is that AJ used come across as a humble, clean cut, all American kid. As of late he's gotten full of himself capping it with his "It's just another game" comment followed by AU feeding him those words. In the UA/AU rivalry, it's never, ever "just another game".

McCarron played well against Auburn. No one made him eat anything. Maybe Case Foster was talking trash, but I don't recall.

Does that include making comments to the nature of "I felt disrespected and wanted to run the score up?"

Give it a rest my friend. Don't try to interpret things any other way than they were said.

There's a whole lot of dumb in this post.

Like I said, it's surprising that he cared that much. But take offense to it all you want.

I'm sure no UT players (or fans) felt disrespected in the 90s, when Spurrier would take unsolicited jabs at you guys year after year.

But McCarron's a bad guy for responding to a really bad motivational ploy instigated by UT's coaching staff.

Makes perfect sense.

Let's see, a coach that makes jabs at everyone yet tends not to kick them when they are down after a game;

Or a player that says "I wanted to run the score up on an opponent."

Does make perfect sense.

Instigated is such an ugly word. And for the record had it happened against say Florida or any other team, I'd be saying the same thing. It was a childish remark no matter who it was directed towards.

We take pride in our color Orange as we are the Only ones who wear it. Unlike Florida who shares their color orange with whoever else Nike wants to pimp out.

Nothing like a derogatory comment without expounding on your rationale...if facts make you butt hurt, get over it.

First of all, you have absolutely no room to call anyone "butt hurt" or to "get over it" after that whine-fest of a post you just made.

Do you seriously need me to point out why your post was 7 shades of stupid? Maybe your selective outrage over the whole "red team" situation? You got seriously butt hurt over a 23 year old college quarterback responding to some bush league tactics by Jones? Jones can do whatever he wants but the opposition can't respond?

Then you call him childish, and proceed to act like a 12 year old with your "Waaaa you're not gonna be no good in the NFL/hope you enjoy sucking". You really showed him how to act mature now didn't you?

I have no idea how old you are, but you telling anyone to grow up is hilarious.

Spurrier rarely missed an opportunity to kick UT or UGA when they were down...are we talking about the same guy? :eek:lol:

Calling Alabama "the red team" was no less childish or disrespectful...and your coaching staff fired the first shot across the bow.

Meyer did/does the same crap at UF/Ohio State, and all it does is piss off and motivate the team you refuse to mention by name.

So you were outraged in 1994 when UT played Vanderbilt?

You are correct...You don't know me. You calling CBJ "bush league" tells me all I care to know about you...clown. I stated facts Bama fan. "Grow up"?? Where did I say that? Fact is I didn't say that...clown. Continue making things up and amusing yourself... clown.

So telling someone they are a small minded child isn't telling them they need to grow up?

And yes, the fact that calling out your stupidity now automatically makes me a "Bama fan" shows you are obviously the epitome of maturity. I really hope your sake you're about 19 years old.

Try you're..."your are" is a grammatical train wreck. No, calling CBJ out makes you 100% Bammeroid. You do realize...no...you don't...calling me the epitome of maturity is a compliment. It's never too late to get a GED. I'll be pulling for you :clapping:

I'm still shaking my head over his claim that Butch Jones paid Bama "the ultimate respect" by referring to them as the red team.
