haha great read.
I have a problem though, I really don't hate Alabama. Granted, I really only started to become a Vol fan when I started school at UT in alt 4, but my hate has really only been vested in Florida, and to a lesser extent Kentucky and Memphis because of Bball. I actually find myself pulling for the tide subconsciously when I watch them play other people, and I think its because I want them to be good enough to beat Florida. I think I don't hate them because I respect their style. Saban's team plays hardnosed tough football with great defense and a tough running game... the way football should be played, not a gimmicky offense with an unnatural hulk at QB.
In short, I need some help remembering why I hate Bama so I can enjoy this week and our win as much as everyone else on Saturday.
I guess I am just too young. I am a Senior at UT and I would have to say that my generation feels that way about Florida. We are 11-3 against Alabama (including the forfeit) since '95, about the age I started enjoying and understanding the Vols. That just doesn't justify hating them.
Were closing the gap
It's now 38-44-7
on Sunday it will be 39-44-7
hahahahaha you aint closing nothing. We've won 2 in a row and 3 of the last 4. We would have won in 2006 if Shula hadn't lost the game down on the goal line. Tennessee football is finished so get used to it. You're team is a has been and you have a boy child head coach who is a laughing stock. Have a nice day

The biggest difference between the UT/Bama series and the UT/UF series are plenty...One UT/Bama have tons of history on their side, They are the two most successful programs in the SEC....Both have legendary coaches...Neyland/Bryant...Both have rabid fan bases and there use to be a strong respect between the two schools however due to the Fulmer gate stuff it turned into pure hatred...I still however hold a great deal of respect towards the Alabama football tradition...I honestly look at this rivalry as being on par if not bigger than OSU/Michigan and some of the other rivalries in the country...It's always a WAR regardless of the records...UT/UF is nothing more than hatred between the two schools and I can't wait for the day they crash back down to earth and their bunch of bandwagon fan base runs looking for another team to leech off of...With that being said...IT'S BEAT BAMA WEEK!!!!!!...Time to make some red elephant stew!
I went to the Bama/USCjr game Saturday night, and I now hate Alabama even more than I did! They are so full of themselves! The fans act like they deserve wins and calls just because they are Alabama. Don't even get me started on their obsession with Bear Bryant. They act like he is still the coach or something, like Saban is channeling "The Bear" as he's winning games. It's so bizarre! Surely Saban has noticed this...I hope his feelings aren't hurt, oh wait yes I do!
My friend is a huge Bama fan, he has a picture of Bear Bryant walking on water. I mean come on! I really really hate Alabama!
