I have a question for some of the Political forum regulars....

As a pastor, I use the KJV, but only because I understand its language. Now I how I got there, I started with a American Standard. I often use other editions at times when studying.

I also know those KJV only people, so we usually have some good conversations about it. The only reason has to be how they were taught and alot of how mom, dad, and grandparents taught.

Level approach. Which is practiced by many.

So I happened to talk to my parents today and asked them about the "mammon" thing. They said they were pretty sure I was well-aware of the term when I was a young teenager. I don't remember it at all, though. They knew of it right away.

Is it kinda like your granny saying, "awe you remember so in so don't ya" not thinking that person died 10 years before you were born.

That's a possibility. My little sister claimed to know what it was, but when pressed she didn't. Kids.

My 5 year old daughter started K-5 last week. Her teacher has already sent a report home saying that she will not complete her work. (after 4 days)

When pressed about it last night (by her mother) she quickly relied "but Im not grown yet, Im too little, it's ok." Kids.

I was talking to a friend of mine - who pastors a church in our community -he told me that he didn't have a problem with different translations of the Bible. He said that he used the KJV because the verses were easier for him to quote. He was familiar with it, as was his listeners.

I'm fine with using that if that's the reason. It's not my preference, but if it is yours then sobeit.

I just know far too many people that believe that Jesus spoke fluent King James English and any other translation is the work of the devil.

Illustrates how far we've come, or not, from the days when people who dared attempt to translate it from Latin into the peoples' language were burned as heretics.

If "Lord" or "God" is used to properly define what he is. I have no issue.

MPO. "the man up stairs" is cheap.
