I have ZERO doubt that we beat Georgia

Georgia will have better athletes in the secondary and on the Defensive Line

Georgia has faster, not stronger RB, and a much much better O Line

Georgia has elite TEs

Georgias weakest points are their QB and lack of take your top off WRs

They key to the game will be our O Line and Hookers decision making.

We need to make our FGs

No UGA does not have a much, much better OL than we do.

Not a good matchup for the Vols defensively. GA will score a bunch. Pressure will be on the offense to score every possession against a great defense in a hostile environment. I'm not saying it's a sure loss, just likely. No matter, the Vols have far surpassed anything I could have dreamed this season.

I’ll believe this UT team can get beat when I see it with my own 2 eyes.

I’ve heard this before. I would say Alabama defense is comparable. We hung 52 on them.
The most anybody had scored on Bama was 26. We doubled that. The most anybody had scored on KY was 24. We nearly doubled that. I am very confident that our offense will score more on that UGA defense than Kent State and Missouri could.

Notice the team we just ransacked 44-6. They were very much a weaker version of UGA mainly because talent and the TE position.

Jalin Hyatt is a force of nature that no defense has a remedy for.
Oh, and we also still have that dude that had like 200+ yards receiving against them last year in Cedric Tillman.
Our RBs whole the middle of the field.
Our QB breaks down defense when they play their assignment perfectly with his legs.
Also, Bru is an automatic 1ST DOWN. Check his stats and see the percentage of catches as 3rd down conversions.

Georgia has a powerful oline with strong rbs. Very difficult TEs to deal with. Bowers is a pure football player. BUT, the remedy to slow them down is what you saw against UK last night. Keep them off schedule. Play a lot of bear front and force Stetson Bennett to do his own Bryce Young impersonation.

Slaughter, Flowers, McCullough, Harrison, Josephs, Beasley, want to prove to UGA that they are real Georgia ballers too.
Omari Thomas, Jabari Small, Jeremy Banks, McDonald, Tyler Barron, Cooper Mays, Jerome Carvin also want to prove Tennessee ballers are legit as well!

But back to Jalin Hyatt 😏.
Georgia...nor anyone else has a answer for his connection with Hendon.

Georgia will find themselves down 28-7 with no Bryce Young type player to bail them out.

Bowers will get his. He just will, but that won't be enough.

Keys to the game:
Throw to Hyatt and throw it deep.
Banks must neutralize McIntosh.
DL hold their own in the run game.
Hooker must run more to keep us on schedule.
Bru and Tillman keep converting 3rd downs.

Score prediction
44- 24 Vols

I put 1000 on the money line...

Yeah, I'm a little worried about our kicker.

I can't make up my mind about RB and OL. UT is averaging 4.6 YPC, UGA 5.65. If RB is equal, then the O line has to be the difference, or vice versa. What do you think?
I think comparative stats like these can be misleading as the stats are compiled against different schedules. GA put a beat down on Oregon to open the season but since then Florida is likely the best team they’ve played and it seems like Florida is trending downwards. We’ve played 5 top 25 ranked teams and Georgia has played 1? Our run D has been solid so I’d guess we try to force them to beat us passing. To me, this game is likely decided by whether our O line can perform against their D line. If Hooker is getting pressured and our rb’s can’t run effectively then it will be a tough game.

All I know is we sure shut down Ogalargi from LSU, and Will Anderson from Bama.

I’m confident in this game too.

However, we’re going to need an answer for covering their TE Bowers.

Dude is like an NFL TE already.
Just like nobody has an answer for Hyatt. Same thing for Bowers.
Difference is Hyatt is what you call a "knockout punch". Suddenly your playing good defense then literally 10 seconds later (tempo) hi s 4.2 speed is flying past your deepest defender.

He has 9 TD's for 30 yards more (damn!! lol)
He has 14 Tds 907 yards recieving in 8 games (5 Top 25 opponents)

I expect him to get 3 Tds this game.
But the other Jaylen (Wright) will be the man in this game.

Well UGA doesn't have a deep threat. Our defense has many guys geared to play in the box vs covering perimeter playmakers. Yes, they are big and physical and athletic. But they don't have guys that can turn the corner on you. So I very much disagree.

Now, how does their defense match up with our offense???

The most any opponent has scored against UGA defense is 22 pts this season, so thinking that this is going to be a high scoring game is based on what?
Nobody had scored more than 24 against UK and 52 was the most Alabama had given up in over 100 years. Hendon and the boys are going to put up 40+.

JD Pickell made a good point in his show today.
"cognitive dissonance" is the effect taking place with the country AND MANY of our own fans.
They see with their eyes, but their reasoning isn't computing it properly.

People think we "survived" Alabama.
People don't know how good we are because we survived Pitt and Florida barely.
All 3 of those games wins, with Alabama being 4 TDs better than the latter 2 mentioned.
Yet, we beat them by the all by similar amounts...:)

Oh, and UGA would lose to Alabama if they played this year.
We saw the two best teams in America play already. (3rd Saturday of October)
Anyway, yeah...you're going to make a lot of money!

Their defense is not built to defend vertical passing attacks, as proven last year against Bama in the SEC championship game. They play mostly man on the outside, and a safety can not cover Hyatt.

If any of you remember the National Championship between LSU and Clemson, Burrow vs Lawrence and all those match ups. That was NOT an easy game for LSU in 2019-20 season.

Yet, if you look at the score alone you would think it was.

2022 UGA vs UT has a similar feel to me.

Don’t forget about Baby Daddy…. I mean, Washington. He’s been getting much more involved in their passing game too, and I guarantee that Monken will try to scheme a 1 on 1 with Bowers over a LB which will be a nightmare for us to handle. McConkey can torch us deep too.
I still hate that McConkey is a Dawg. He grew up a massive Vol fan.
He was more of a Georgia fan. It was his dream offer. We did recruit him...

The only dude that could match up with Bowers is Malaki Starks..who also plays with Georgia hahaha.

But football just isn't about 1 on 1s. Georgia is strong across the OL and DL. And unnoticebly still, so is Tennessee.

If we can jump on them early and force them to throw...we will beat them.
But our run defense can't break now. It is essential. That's how they opened up their offense last year...they started dominating on the ground

Recruiting matters, and Smart obviously has a huge head start in that regard. They have horses we don't have. The game is at their place. However, we have one of the most composed QBs I've ever seen executing a Big 12 offense to near perfection in the mighty SEC. The encouraging thing is there is still room to improve. Our struggles with pass defense combined with our success against the run makes our overall defense average statistically. But the defense has an uncanny ability to rise to the occasion when a play has to be made. I have no idea how the Georgia game will go. They are very good, and their roster is an embarrassment of riches. If someone can stop Tennessee, it's them. It's just so awesome to go into a game with an opponent like that and feel like you have a good chance to win. Man it's been forever.

This game will come down to turnovers and tackling in space. Were playing some good football but UGA is legit. Too close to call imo.

I’m not saying GA overlooks us. But, do they come in thinking, hey we beat these guy’s such and such last year? Does hubris play a part in their game plan next week?
