I Hope Butch Jones Watched the Game Tonight...

Truly hope so. This Alabama dominance must end soon. It's getting almost impossible for a Vol fan to function anywhere in the South.

yeah it's sickening when you go to Oprymills or Rivergate & right in front is bama gear :rtfm:

I watched that game in amazement. I've Never seen a team so outclassed in every aspect (except '85 Sugar Vols stomping Miami). Midway through Q3 I began to wonder what the commode doors (thanks, Coach Cafego),would have done to the darlings of South Bend. Classic SEC beat-down. I was proud. And I hate Bama.

Part of the enjoyment comes from the media having to eat their own words and hype. It's much better when it is done with an a$$ whippin'. Makes the day after a true hangover for the loser and their bandwagon friends.

ND had only one receiver that could compete well in the SEC, Eifort. The rest of their O was mid-level SEC at best. Their vaunted D was clueless and Bama did nothing deceptive. They lined it up and ran/passed at will. If McCarron was more accurate on the long ball they score even more, even with shutting it down for all of the 4th quarter. Their D would get rolled by half the teams in the SEC, including ours last season. They could not cover any receivers at all.

ND is a figment of the imagination. But we don't suffer that at UT. We know what Bama is, and we have the most successful program against them. The tide will turn back our way.

I'm sorry, Jones followed Kelly at not 1, but, 2 jobs. Kelly is considered more successful, and he only has to play the Tide if he makes the MNC.

Nut to mention, ND doesn't rely on 3 stars for their success, either.

You are correct...Jones did follow Kelly in 2 jobs...But Kelly followed Charlie Weis to which recruited most of the players that played last night....Its really not a Coach factor more as it is a Over-Rated Notre Dame that finished 12-0. What it shows is just because you dont loose a game during the year doesnt make you #1 team in the country.

I hope he watched too, and realizes he needs a QB that can run and pass...

Bingo...his qb at cincy would win maybe 4 games at tn. He ran to much n bad passer. Im ok with run qb but be able to stand in pocket n complete a pass also..

How'd yall like that comment of Musberger's about Teo when ND came out that he was one of the best LBs in the HISTORY of College FB....What a freaking joke! He would not even be 3rd team all-SEC!

That was comment #1 to me on "Musmouth's" TOP TEN Dumbest comments of the night.

Kirk H. was hilarous when he stated the obvious right before the half that Bama wasn't looking to run out the clock....they were planning on scoring another touchdown.

Not trying to be sacri-religious but a friend of my son tweeted that McCarron's girlfriend looked like a female Jesus.

How many Cincy games did you see last season?

3 and half of a 4th. Not every game but enough to see different situations n how he responded.

My biggest fear he brings in average qb with good wheels n thinks we will be ok.. Just watch miss state n thats the qb im scared we get. They can run but struggle against complex def.

Better get some DT's.

I am not sure why Kelly doesn't go no huddle, throws WR screens, quick slants, and roll out the qb to give them a run pass option. Poor game plan by ND. It doesn't help that the D stays on the field.

What part of SUPERIOR didn't you get? I knew bama was fixing to lay one on .

As a fellow resident of Huntsville I wholeheartedly agree with you. The bandwagon clowns are growing by the minute here.

Amen brother. Look at this way, surely they have used up all their luck. I understand they are very, very, very, good yet they have been lucky in several ways to even get to any of these games. What if UT makes that FG in 2009? What if a ton of good fortune didn't happen last season for Bama to get the rematch with LSU? Has any team been so unlucky as LSU last season? LSU beats Bama and then still has to win the SEC to get a rematch, lordy. What if Ohio State hadn't been stupid and went to a bowl game last season or Oregon and K State didn't lose on the same day while Georgia is 5 yards away from taking the SEC this year? I realize and know you make most of your own luck however the Tide has been unbelievably blessed during this run, and people talk about the luck of the Irish. With that said, when given the chance they have come through with pit bull determination and great play. The thing that really hurts me as a Vol fan is wishing Fulmer had been so driven as a Saban during the 90's with all the talent we had. At least we had enough strokes of luck to get one in 1998.
