I just found out Peyton Manning is coming out to my deployed location next week on a USO tour!!!! It will make my time here in this place worth it! I didn't think I would be this excited, but I am. The only bad thing is I don't have anything really nice for him to sign and with the short notice I won't be able to get anything sent out here. I do have a UT shirt I wear, I guess that will work. He won't be here long, so I'm sure he'll be going to some of the other bases as well. I hope if anyone else is deployed they will get to see him too!!

edit: I forgot to preface this with "cool story bro"!

That's Awesome!!!!! You are well deserved. Thanks for your sevice!:hi:

They probably don't look so good now.:lolabove:

:) They look better than the team does on Sunday! OP, nice opportunity! Thanks for your service to our country ...including my two small boys who will know you by the free country they grow up in!

As most know, I'm not a Peyton Manning fan, but that's pretty cool. A couple of country stars, including Toby Keith put on a show where I was based out of while I was deployed but I was on a different FOB in Afghanistan at the time. I did get to meet the President and First Lady when I came back though so that was sweet.

I've got an update for this USO visit in case anyone else is going to get the same group of people coming to their base. The list is Peyton Manning, Ausitn Collie, Vincent Jackson, Curt Schilling, a couple Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and a couple American Idol people. So if anyone has gotten wind that one of these people will be visisting, they should all be coming as a group. How awesome!

Nice

I got to meet the Redskins cheerleaders my first deployment

We got to meet the New England Patriots cheerleaders on my last deployment. It seems all the cheerleaders make the rotation to Afghanistan too. Lol

Toby Keith?
You sure that wasn't an attack by Al Qaeda?

Well the USO tour made its way to my deployed location, here are a couple photos from the event. I got to meet Peyton and get an autograph! I also asked him if Coach Jones was going to get it done at UT, He said "I hope so." I also got to talk to Austin Collie and Clyde Christensen(Colts QB Coach) for a few minutes when they got in line at the chow hall right behind me. I asked the coach if he could stop beating the Titans and he laughed and said he couldn't do that. Everyone that came on the tour was extremely nice and stayed well over their allotted time to take pictures, sign autographs, and eat with us. What an experience!!! I hope you enjoy the photos and thanks for all of the kind words in this thread, it is really appreciated!

Toby Keith was the only person that tried to visit us during my tours over there, but a sand storm blew up and they couldn't land the plane.

We usually are in the middle of nowhere, though.
