I can't help it you live in a yuppie state which is out of touch with the rest of the country.

:)

At least you have Kelly Pavlik, and can lay claim to our greatest president, Rutherford B. Hayes. We educated several presidents here, including George HW Bush, George W Bush, Gerald Ford, William H Taft, and (cuts arms with razor in repentance) Viagra Willie Clinton.

He wouldn't go for it, but Huckabee would be a great running mate for McCain. I expect McCain will go after somebody with a strong military background. Just a hunch.

I think Frist would be a good call, though i really like Fred and voted for him in the Primary. My reasoning is superficial, but take an honest look at the American People.

Bill looks young and full of life, Fred looks older. Fred's drawl won't help him in the, as OE lovingly declared us, Yuppie States. Is it right? NO, but the country is becoming pretty stupid, alot of votes are cast on style over substance. Not that there is a chance of a GOP nominee winning in New England, though it might go to a recount should the Jackasses nominate Hitler or Stalin.

I don't think it will be Frist... he's already got plans to run for govenor, but who knows... I still look for McCain to get Graham on his ticket.

Governor/poobah from a swing state - Florida, Michigan, Ohio, etc. It's all about lining up some electoral votes.

I read this article discussing VP choices: Haley Barbour, Charlie Crist, Kay Bailey Hutchison, Tim Pawlenty, and Condi Rice. As wild card choices they had, J. Lieberman, David Patraeus, Tom Ridge, and J.C. Watts.
I agree with TennTrad that McCain already covers the military angle, I do believe he needs someone younger to combat the age issue thats already been made in the press. How important to get a woman, or african american choice for VP?

I heard it was going to be Jesse Jackson with Obama and Ann Heche with Hillary..

If Bill Frist is somehow picked to be McCain's running mate (which I give about a .5% chance of happening), I'd officially be scared to death. I'm at a point where McCain is the only possible choice for me to vote for and Frist is an idiot. I don't care if he's from Tennessee or not.

Michael Steele is another VP possibility, he's a black guy who's to the right of McCain on some issues.

Linda Chavez hasn't been mentioned, but I think bears consideration. A conservative, Hispanic woman with cabinet level experience could really help McCain.
