As of today they have the peeps setting down to 8. Awesome news. The target is under 7 they say. Hopefully the vent gets down to 40% later today.

Sadly they dropped the vent from 45 to 40 and he wasn't able to handle it. So he is still at 45 But they got that peep ton8 so some good news at least.

Today has been another set back. As of 3 hours ago he hasnt made any urine and that has the nurses and doctor concerned. Now im getting nervous that after all this time he starts going down hill. Please throw up some extra prayers please.

Sadly i had to give permission to start dialysis this evening. Was hoping to avoid that step. But i feel like it is the best course of action if that is where the infection is. This will clear it up faster. Trust the process is all i can do. Thanks for all the prayers my Vols friends. Keep Praying

Letting dialysis do the work of his kidneys may help the rest of his body save its resources to fight the battle. Prayers that this will help him through the next few days, and prayers for you as well.

Actually thats what his father and i discussed. After the conversation with his father who is retired from the medical field i feel much better about this.

His father said because his kidneys stopped around 12 today that instead of trying other things being aggressive like this is actually a good thing instead of waiting until other issues pop up. So i trust his opinion. I dont feel so bad about making the decision. But being 1200 miles away its hard.

A close friend spent 4 months in the hospital with severe covid. He was on ventilator, dialysis and ecmo at one time or another. He is out of the hospital and getting stronger every day.
