Instead of shouting oh my god the seasons over, NIT bound, we couldn't afford to lose...can you try and approach things in an educated manner.

Tennessee's RPI was 53 prior to the game, how far did this bad loss drop us? 2 spots, we are now 55. Our RPI is ahead of Villanova, UMASS, Virgina and Baylor all teams also on the bubble.

If Tennessee wins the next 2 they go into the SECT with a RPI around 52. The good news now is they won't get a double bye, so their first game is very winnable and on a neutral site will still give a RPI boost. You win 2 in the SECT to be 21-12 the RPI is around 45 and this team is likely dancing.

Point is, nobody knows for sure, but to sit here and freak out and declare us NIT bound, or say we have to win the SECT to have a chance is simply ridiculous and uneducated.

I think part of the problem is now we see what UT is capable of, and some may be thinking we might see this team today again in the next 2-3 games. And that can't happen.

Basically the margin of error went from thin to extremely razor thin.

I'm really surprised the reaction isn't worse.
Not sure we can break the 50 mark in rpi now.
Would need lots of help.

Everything depends on how other teams do. If the teams fighting with us lose another game then we are in the same spot. There are always multiple teams that get in that the bracket guys miss.

Exactly. There's now no room for error, they could always lose 1, I've said it for weeks. The more we win the better our chances got because we still had that 1 we "could" lose. Well we lost that card today, now it's time for another winning streak, one of at least 4 in a row.

RPI down to 57, for the record. I do agree with everything that was said. Hopefully this was the kick in the ass they needed to see exactly what they have to do, since they've done what they had to do.

I like how the people that don't want the realistic people to "overreact" talk about winning the next two like it's a given. We just lost to a HORRIBLE team for the second time in three weeks. You guys know that Mizzou is actually good at basketball, right? So yeah, let's just go win the next two. And while we're at it, let's scrimmage against Indiana and Michigan State and Gonzaga and Miami and St Louis and let's go ahead and beat them too. Just because we can.

Auburn is much worse than UGA.

Also, Mizzou is not good on the road.

It was 55 when I started it, other games ending must've lowered it.

I must've missed where someone said winning the next 2 was a given?

I must've also missed where Tennessee beating Florida wasn't considered a good team.

Agreed.

While our chances got slimmer with today's loss, it's not over. There's definitely no margin for error at all going forward though.

Both sides overreact, we lose and everyone sucks and Martin should be fired. We win and Martin is the greatest coach in america. A kid has a bad game and he's trash, a kid has a good game and we should retire his Jersey. Let's be honest, there are about 5-7 guys in this forum with a level head win or lose.

No not at all doubtful. Take a look at RPIforecast

Not sure what you're going off of but we can EASILY get into the 40s
We'll finish around 54 - 55, for season.
Would have to beat a high rpi team to get that much jump.
Not saying we can't dance.
Just won't break 50.

That good Mizzou team was down 10 at home, and currently down 6 to a terrible LSU team. Anything can/will happen.

^Voice of reason here.

Thank you for that. I hope people listen to you, but I doubt they will.
