I was under the assumption most thought the Gator game was a loss, so by winning it we a get out of jail free card. Now we used that up.

Balance, CCM is not overachieving nor should he be fired. Lets see how a few weeks play out but more important next season is put up or shut up time

Ok so your original point was that it's unlikely we win 4 in a row, not that it's unlikely that if we do we'd break into the 40s?

Seemed to me you were saying even winning next 4 it's doubtful we'd get into the 40s
Let me throw a little logic at you.
Florida rpi 4 win moved us 3 spots. (Home win)
If we win 2 in the tourney they will most likely be teams that have a lower rpi than we do. the first will be much lower.
Even on a neutral court, how do you get enough bump to move more than beating an rpi 4 team?
So, in answer to your question, even with 2 wins we don't break 50.

When I say lower, I mean worser.

I agree with everything you said, it was a rational post. I'm in no way saying we will win the next 4, I'm saying if we do we can get a bid, so declaring the season over is simply premature.

Now people can choose to get behind the team and root for a 4 game win streak, or they can say its not likely. Point being, the numbers say Tennessee definitely has a chance to still get in.

Oh I'll support my guys till the death, but I also don't set the bar too high as to set them up for failure. We dug ourselves a deep hole early in the season that would have taken something miraculous to come out of.

They had a choice 3 weeks ago to fold and call it a season but fought hard and got some great wins and reenergized the fan base. Being the rational guy I am, I enjoyed each win and took it for what it was, a win, not an "Oh my goodness we're going to make the tournament!!!"

Because neutral wins count more...it's the same reason why a win today would've moved us up as much as the Florida win. Or why a loss today only hurts us much as Florida win helps us.

We can go back and forth all day, RPIforecast has proven to be spot on, so I'll trust them again. If we win the next 4 we can absolutely revisit this then.

That was my fear. 3 weeks ago if you said hey will you take 18-12 and nice SECT appearnace most would've said hell yea, remember all the we won't finish .500 and we'll miss the NIT posts? Then we make a run and people are now acting like we should make the dance no doube, just constant over reactions like you've said.

Guess we'll have to revisit.
Peace be upon you and yours. Nice car too.

Does ky losing to arkansas hurt us more than them winning? Only two min remainig and Cats down 11.

Ky was in the tourney before the game and the Hogs were in the conversation.

SIAP!

Thanks!

It will hurt our RPI (ever so slightly) but hurts a bubble team...because of our loss today I'm rooting against all bubble teams even if we has played them.

i worry about bias with uk...with the money their fans bring in and the way they travel...i'm worried the committee will make every justification to get them in the dance.

Are the Hogs in the dance after beating cats or the top 4 out looking in?

I think they still have Mizz and Gators left on schedule which could help their chances to go dancing

If ole miss loses then that is 2 teams that were in the tourney that fall out. Ole miss currently down 9. Kentucky other team that falls out. Both ole miss and uk are likely to lose another regular season game. We need to win next 2 and see where we are at.

Yup. I posted in another thread, UK lost, Bama lost, if Ole Miss loses UT has the 3rd best NCAA resume in the SEC.

UK, Ole Miss and Alabama all lost today. I guess that has to lessen the impact of UT's loss somewhat. Of course, the Vols now have to win out to have a shot at the NCAA tournament.
