It's also hard to yell and act crazy when the people in front of you brought a whole family of 2 and 3 year olds that sit in front of you.  I can't figure out for the life of me why someone would want to take a group of 2 year olds to the game.

I agree %100. What is wrong with someone who brings small children to a raucous college football stadium? They should be aware that it's a football game and whatever happens that they can't explain to the little ones is their own fault!!

Easier said then done when watching Tennessee play ball.

Most of them just end up leaving early after their children have spent most of their time there hitting my knees with their elbows and heads and looking back at me like I've lost my mind when I do anything.  Kids stress me out.  :biggrin2:

Are you sucker punching toddlers again?

 :naughty: I can't help it if they can't figure out that my knee = a bad time. It's kind of hard to avoid when you have long legs.

The kiddies are cute for the cameras, but I have to worry about hearing damage. I have seen closeups of INFANTS in the stadium when it WAS really loud. Parents need to be more careful.

No argument there... and I've been known to say some pretty, uh, non family friendly things in my Jack Daniels-fueled tirades.

I know how to make that place loud as hell. do what the Angles did and give everyone boom sticks. could you imagine 110,000 boom sticks hitting each other like mad crazy.

Thunder sticks are just god awful. Almost as bad as the wave.

What are boom sticks because I'm thinking about dynamite and that's probably the wrong way to go. However, that would be loud too.

I'll go get some off of Surreal's bass boat.

How about if we just give everybody a piglet that they could squeeze at designated times.

also called thunder sticks. they are two tubes that you smack together and they are pretty loud. 110,000 of them and you couldnt hear nothing.

I HATE the Thundersticks.

I actually saw some at a game a few years ago when the Angels were using them. I think it was the Kentucky game. I remember thinking, "Why in the hell are people selling those for a game like this?"

Someone had an idea about a decibel-level thingy. That sounded good to me.

But you have to have noise in order for that to work. That's what we're working on here. Get with the program. :gun:

:Bbiteme:

What I meant was, it MIGHT make people GET louder if they knew they weren't as loud as they thought they were.

But what if they were in fact LOUDER than they thought they were? If they didn't have enough initiative, they might take the opportunity to slack off. :D

but really I know why we arent so loud. Tennessee has some of the most dedicated fans and that means we have 60 and 70 year old people at the game. Not that its a bad thing but once you hit 50 you stop wanting to yell ever play.
