It’s a shame. Local kid, solid contributor and could have been a VFL that helped bring us back from the decade in the wilderness.

Instead he sacrificed it for what? How much more were Ole Miss, Louisville etc gonna pay? And he’s no longer being developed by Coach Garner so probably not improving his draft stock and career earnings potential.

The transfer portal hopscotch Tyler Baron played this off season has to raise some red flags with NFL teams if he has the idea he is going pro.

This is a good point.

Little different case-but look at what Sam Hartman did the last few years.

Lighting it up at WF-all good and on road to at least getting drafted. Chases money and a ring (yes, I know lol) at ND. Went undrafted.

I sincerely believe the NFL teams are going to start looking at players who transfer their last year for a few extra pennies in a negative light. I mean you bring in a guy in say the 4th. Develop him for a year or two and maybe you get maybe two good years out of him before he leaves for an extra $50 grand a season or something. Kind of the same thing at colleges now really. The small fish are basically just feeder programs for P5 at this point anyway. Players goes to Upper Pallookaville St and has one good season then bolts.

I wonder if they signed a NDA or had a clause in their agreements about conduct detrimental to the team. If they didn’t, Louisville is going to owe them some money.
