I thought it was a good debate. Who's with me?

I believe her going deliberately off the question, forming her own question and answering it didn't help much. Not knowing who the general is that she is detailing his plan wasn't good either.

Biden stuttered a few times and I was somewhat surprised he didn't call her out on some stuff, although I understand why he didn't.

Overall, I think he made her look ridiculous while not trying to.

I'm a usual defender of Obama/Biden, but Palin did have her moments. As I said, I give a slight edge to Biden but I would like to see how the fact-checking comes out.

Fact checking is going to get both of them.

I think her comment about only being at this 5 weeks might come back to haunt the campaign, given she is the "experienced" one of the bunch. I'm not saying it is a necessarily valid argument (given it wasn't about executive experience), but the liberal pundits will be all over it.

I think everyone noticed this. It was obvious she didn't have anything to say other then what her handlers had prepared for her and couldn't answer questions specificly or directly. This made her look weak IMO.

I have to disagree. There were some moments of going off script that seemed to work for her. Calling out Biden on his hypocritical voting record didn't seemed rehearsed and was probably effective. I was waiting for her to say "Joe, there isn't enough lipstick you can put on that pig!"

I did think when she said "I am going to answer this the way I want, and not the way Joe or the moderator wants" translated to "I don't have a clue on this one, here is a rehearsed talking point".

Overall, I came away feeling satisfied. My impression of Palin did change for the better, at least a little. She actually came off as someone with a somewhat large knowledge bank. The only thing that made me mad at her was the fact that she would dodge the questions a lot, among other things.

Biden did exactly what I expected him to do, win. He looked good, answered most of the questions with direct answers, and was very coherent, and didn't slip up.

I still am not sure that I would be confident in Palin, should(God forbid) McCain die in office if he is elected. Something tells me that her cabinet would end up steamrolling her decisions, which might be a good thing in some respects.

Biden is going to get shelled on fact checking, but nobody cares, so making things up was probably the best policy.

Seems to have worked for his would be boss as well.

I thought Palin did very well for herself here. Biden did what he needed to do as well, he did make some statements that were factually incorrect and it will be interesting to see if he is called on them by the media. I think it was a win for Palin based on the media's low expectations of her performance.

I do believe Biden was coached to be a little more gracious and conservative in his delivery, afraid he might appear to be condescending. Palin was able ti stick in a few jabs she otherwise might not have been able to.

I agree with other posters that this debate will probably have little effect on the election overall, although I do believe those that might have been wavering or on the fence because of Palin's recent poor performance have to be encouraged by her showing last night.

Any good politician skews the questions in the debate to put out the answer they want to. That is extremely common.

Biden did a good job,he left his attack dog persona out of the equasion.Answered the questions with skill.

Palin reminded me of our defense 10 yards of the ball. However she wasn't as bad as projected.

I'm with you on Biden's skill, if you're talking about deftly misleading and being wrong with aplomb.
