I thought Vols fans HATED Florida??

This post is dedicated to the sports fans of the world. Namely, the college football fans. Whats up with all the fake people in the world. I just don't get it. Let me explain. I live of course in Knoxville, now all year long there is one thing that holds true if you are a Vols fan , and that is SCREW FLORIDA! And with good reason, they are the Vols ultimate rivals! Now that being said, I am in no way a Vols fan however I do see a lot of their games and live a few blocks from the stadium, I am in the loop enough to know SCREW FLORIDA! But now the time has come for Florida to play in the national championship game against my beloved (and future champs) Ohio State. This I think is great, everyone in town will be rooting so hardcore for the Bucks simply because they are playing the hated Gators. But NO! I have talked to many people here in K-Town and you know what the reaction is? GO FLORIDA!? HUH? Excuse me? Wait a second, let me get this straight, all year long its screw Florida, We hate the Gators, and now its Go Florida? But get this, it gets better, wanna know the reason? "Florida is in the SEC and we must root for our conference" That makes sense right? No it doesn't. That would be the same as me as a diehard Red Sox fan and loyal Yankee hater rooting for the Yanks to win the World Series with the defense being "The Yankees are in the AL East, I gotta root for my division! I say BULL. Loyalties are loyalites, If you hate a team all year long and then root for them because they are in your conference you are a poser. I say keep the hatred where it belongs. If you hated Florida all year, then this is the time of year to hate them even more. Wake up people of Knoxville, the Gators winning the national championship would be bad all around. Imagine, next year when UT and UF meet, are you gonna root for UF because "hey they are in our conference" Makes no sense to me! Once hated, always hated. To everyone who has ever said "Screw Florida and is now rooting for Florida, your loyalties are false. You are a Florida fan and thats the bottom line. Burn your UT gear, get yourself some Gator gear and call yourself a Florida fan. If not, then join me and the rest of Buckeye Nation in saying "Screw Florida" Because even though they are in the SEC....ITS STILL FLORIDA whats wrong with you people. POSERS! Vols fans remember just as is true in September its true in January "Screw Florida" Be real. Be real.

2. Bama, not Florida, is our biggest and most hated rival.
3. Some people feel that UF winning some how benefits UT. I am not one of those people.
4. You are dead on with the comparison to the Red Sox and Yankees.
5. I don't see how you can question whether or not someone is a loyal fan by who they want to win the NCG. Someone may have as much hatred for Ohio St. as they do for UF.

How is it stupid? You hate Florida all year long and now just because they represent the SEC thats okay? So, you'd rather support your rival then see them fail. Isn't it better to see them fail since you hate them so much (and I mean you in the broad sense, not specifically)

I guess I'm a poser then. College football is alot different than baseball you are comparing it with. People judge what a conference can do against another conference in college. If OSU beats Florida then everyone jumps on the "see I told you the SEC is over-rated" bandwagon.

I'm very real, I want the Gators to win Monday, put it behind me and wait for September to roll around.

Go Vols! Go SEC!

By the way, I dont hate any team. I support only one program. Its a sport with a bunch of young kids running around playing it. How can you hate that?

I feel what you're saying and yes I may have a little more love for The Devil himself than Florida, but The SEC needs to be represented well ! I am not rooting for Florida or Ohio State so I guess I will remain neutral .

Did not know I made any typing errors, but hey I am human sorry. And yes now that I think about it Bama is the #1 rival but still Florida is very hated around these parts.

SCREW FLORIDA is correct.

I hate OSU about 40x more than I hate Bama.

My top 3 hated.

1. OSU
2. Al-Queda All-stars

I don't hate that aspect of it. But rivalries in sports whether its at the high school, college or pro level are a healthy part of the game. Without rivalries sports would not be as interesting as they are.

I was kidding... I'm not the first one to have made that analogy... If OSU played any out of the country football team I would pull for OSU... Why wish another team could beat the best team in our country? That would be more embarrassing than anything.

But I do hate OSU more than Bama.

I hate Ginn because I think he is overhyped... That is the same way I have thought about Gamble and Krenzel. That is why they made the list... I have no problem with Gonzo or Pittman or much of the rest of your team... Sure, I root for them to fail in college to spite your team, but in the NFL I don't care how they do... But I will root against Gamble and Ginn unless they are Titans.

Gonzo is gonna be so good in the NFL I can't wait. But I do feel Ginn is slightly overhyped as well, hes a great college player but part of what makes him so great is that he has his high school QB Troy Smith throwing to him, I will be very interested to see his numbers with another QB, they will be good but maybe not as great as they are now.

Oh, and I am so looking forward to James Laurinitis in the NFL, that man is a bad mamma jamma!
