As odd as this might sound, Ambles game of musical chairs could come back to bite him if he passes. All the other chairs are filling up. It would be strange to see a 5* WR looking for a home on NSD but it could happen.

This could be DD's lawyer like negotiating skills coming out again. If USC really has dropped him as a prospect and these others have questionable interest then he's at a pressure point of his own creation. DD is just helping him see it that way. He's treating UT as the girlfriend he can always go back to when no one else is available.... DD is cutting that off.

Great move.

I like the move by DD. With Ambles, he knows what UT has to offer him, heck he has sold other recruits on what UT has to offer. We just don't have time to spend on someone that is wishy washy this late in the game without a full staff. I'd rather DD and the staff spend time trying to get the trenches filled out than waste time on a diva at WR.

Makes sense to me. One, you know what you have. Two, if you've got your eye on someone else as a receiver then you can tell them that there is one less person to compete with.

What if another player was considering coming because of Markeith coming or not?

His noncommitment because he wants to be the big news could really be screwing things up. It would almost be a bad example to let him come in now. Does that mean that he then has the message that he doesn't have to follow whats expected of him or that you need him so bad that you'll give him a longer lead for screwups.

We need this to be a program where players feel like it is a privilege to be offered. We don't need to be considered the fall back plan if something happens with their first choice.

Money says this kid holds out past NSD so all eyes can be on him. If that is the case, he will hopefully not have our hat on the table because his offered will have been rescinded.
