Let's hope The 2022 Vols show up with MORE "Juice"

trust me. The players did not want to play this game at all. They wanted the season to be done.
No doubt. Johnny Majors is a Vol legend. Fulmer back stabbed Johnny when he was out with heart problems. Looking back on Fulmer’s tenure, he did a lot of shady things. Major’s got hosed by Fulmer after giving Fulmer his first assistant job.

lot of wrong statements in this post..

O line got abused and Clausen had no mobility.

I did like remembering how good Fayton, Jones, and Hannon were however.

Fulmer stepped in during coach Majors health issue. Coach Majors came back and the team looked terrible in a 40-0 blowout then lost to Arkansas Alabama and South Carolina. It's really time to stop with this notion that coach Majors does not bear the responsibility of being let go.

My point was that you said 'we' love them both. Maybe that's you and the mouse in your pocket, but it's not all UT fans. I sure don't love Fulmer, for several valid reasons.
It amazes me that so many Vol fans dislike the coach that had the Vols at the pinnacle of college football for over 10 years--top 5 recruiting classes year after year and teams that would have been in the playoffs in todays system more often than not. Well, I guess Ron White said it best: "You can't fix stupid".

first thing, Majors didn't give Fulmer first coaching job. When Majors hired him, he had been coaching for 10 years.

Your knowledge on what got Coach Majors fired way off. His former team mate was the leader in getting him fired, Bill Johnson.. Johnson was on BOT
True LWS , & as much as I thought of CJM it wasn’t a good idea cussing out then UT president Joe Johnson . I also seem to remember an altercation at a charity golf event where one of the Majors brothers , possibly Joe, was giving Dickey grief about the lack of a new contract that fateful summer . Joe Johnson was certainly not one to get in a pissing contest and Dickey could tote a grudge in a wheelbarrow !

Not really. I’d take Johnny Majors over Phil Fulmer everyday of the week.

And you can have that opinion. But you would be wrong. Fulmer was 4-0 as interim coach that season. Majors lost 3 games two of which were against Arkansas and South Carolina. We also had to pull out a victory late in the game against Vandy that year. It was clear that Majors time was up.

Phil Fulmer had great recruiting classes and should have won 3 National Championships. He was also coaching against one good coach in the SEC at the time in Steve Spurrier. He beat the Gators twice while he was Head Coach. Also, Alabama was on probation and wondering through the wilderness. When the good coaches came to the SEC around 2003, he was cooked. He was scared on the sidelines 90% of the time against good teams. His teams always played tight and played down to inferior competition.

The real answer is when he was fired did anyone want him as head coach? Absolutely not. Never was impressed with Fulmer as coach.

Also JM won a NC at Pitt. Say that real fast. At Pitt!! Now that’s a coach. You are correct his time was up at UT, but I’d still rather have him as PF.

You can have that opinion doesn't mean you aren't wrong as evidenced by your stated reason for supporting coach Majors was because of something he did while coaching Pitt. That's not logical. I also said that both coaches were at the end of the road when it came to coaching at Tennessee. And the ironic thing it was the same reason for both. Resting on their past success.

If you love the dude that backstabbed his way to the HC job, then ran the program into the ground, then backstabbed his way to the AD job, then ran the program into the ground again, yeah, you can't fix stupid.

The dude who was undefeated in his interim coach role versus the head coach who single handedly cost us a shot at the national championship? The dude between the two is the only one to win the national championship for Tennessee (not for Pitt) whatever relation you have to coach Majors I don't know but you certainly have his ability to point the finger at anyone but yourself like him. Losing to Arkansas and South Carolina that year was way worse than losing to South Carolina this year imo. Arkansas game was in Knoxville that year. South Carolina had sunshine Tannyhill at QB. Lmao

Calm down Mrs. Fulmer. You love who you want to but don't try to tell others how to think.
Point the finger at anyone but myself? Don't be hysterical.
