I simply prefer an up tempo style and a coach with a personality. I hope we win it all, I just don't enjoy watching them. I check in time to time on the score and might watch a few minutes but that's about it. I'm not going to change my opinion of Cuonzo or his style because we got lucky and made the tournament and then caught a nice draw getting to play Mercer. All these eat crow, I'm sorry, apologize to CMM threads are ridiculous.......True bandwagon fans if you ask me, which you didn't, but oh well.

I hear Aubie is looking for some fans to support their new clown.

You are right on a lot of points, but if you don't make the tourney, no matter how many wins you had during that year , it's a bad or failed season.

Is the antithesis to this statement, "If you do make the tournament, no matter how many wins you had during the year, it's a good or successful sesson."?

I think the line of division is how much emphasis you put on the regular season vs the tournament in a sport that is very driven by tournament success.

Going 28-5 and losing your first game in the tournament is a failure to me. But going 22-11 and making the Sweet 16 feels like a success.

One thing is we can't love CCM when he is winning and think he is a bad coach when were losing. He may not be able to be a big winner with next year's team still to be determined how that team will look. I know you can't expect a lot from freshmen no matter what they did in high school. The main problems with the next team are in the post a return by Stokes or the pickup of a graduate student could quickly fix that problem.
I see a lot of people feeling bad about the past since were now winning and closing strong. How will they feel if were like 15 and 14 next season? We have to stick by our coach from now on in he is working hard for us we know that and that is all we can ask.

I feel better now BUT we have played some weaker teams on our way to get where we are now. I would feel much better if we could beat some teams that are better than we are. Such as when we used to beat Texas, Florida, Oklahoma State, etc. etc.

You're certainly not alone, Crew. The guys won on toughness and didn't fall into serious lapses vs both Iowa and UMass. Those propensities are instilled by excellent coaching. I think Cuonzo's progressed within the learning curve. Let's just hope I won't be be eating my words when lowly Mercer shows up with some surprises.

Your assessment of lowly Mercer is way off base. If you watched Duke-Mercer, you would have seen on that particular night Mercer was a better basketball team than Duke. Mercer is real. They play as a team and have 7 seniors that have been through the grind.

They will not be afraid of Tennessee.

Also don't forget they beat Tennessee in Knoxville last year.

This will be a hard fought game.

Of course that's not how it works with him, because that makes him a hypocrite, and look wrong regarding this season. He can't have that.
