I simply prefer an up tempo style and a coach with a personality. I hope we win it all, I just don't enjoy watching them. I check in time to time on the score and might watch a few minutes but that's about it. I'm not going to change my opinion of Cuonzo or his style because we got lucky and made the tournament and then caught a nice draw getting to play Mercer. All these eat crow, I'm sorry, apologize to CMM threads are ridiculous.......True bandwagon fans if you ask me, which you didn't, but oh well.
You are right on a lot of points, but if you don't make the tourney, no matter how many wins you had during that year , it's a bad or failed season.
You're certainly not alone, Crew. The guys won on toughness and didn't fall into serious lapses vs both Iowa and UMass. Those propensities are instilled by excellent coaching. I think Cuonzo's progressed within the learning curve. Let's just hope I won't be be eating my words when lowly Mercer shows up with some surprises.
Is the antithesis to this statement, "If you do make the tournament, no matter how many wins you had during the year, it's a good or successful sesson."?
I think the line of division is how much emphasis you put on the regular season vs the tournament in a sport that is very driven by tournament success.
Going 28-5 and losing your first game in the tournament is a failure to me. But going 22-11 and making the Sweet 16 feels like a success.
