... she had already made all the meals for that day and so there evidently wasn't any point.

Those who have been watching the news understand my point.

I've read the news for the day. Don't get your joke. Maybe you could post a link to the story instead of making backhanded remarks?

Fox interviewed her first ... as she was making sandwiches for the kids.

Then CNN interviewed her. She was making a salad.

Somebody trying to soften their image, go for that Susie Homemaker image? Its so painfully obvious.

You make it sound like she doesn't normally do things like that. What's the big deal? Honestly why do some people want to crucify this woman for her beliefs and for her value system? Get over yourselves already.

You mean she is HUMAN?? OMG I thought she was an evil Republican robot

Give me a break... what was the media doing with Hilary back in the early 90's

Actually the making sandwiches for the kids is something that is called a good mom. She has morals and values, which is something that some Americans are lacking.

She is being re-manufactured, re-cast. Someone has a hold of her and is setting up a run in '12 and '16. God help the Republican party if they go for her next time around. For someone not even holding a national office, her negatives are competitive with Bush.

why do we still care about palin? serious question.

I am fascinated by the whole situation. The Republicans got their collective arse kicked and have to pick a direction. Do they try to go for the center? Do they move to the right to try to shore things up?

You can make an argument that they should stay in the center, that McCain was doomed to lose because of the economy and didn't do that badly, really, when you consider the situation. That had the economy not tanked, then he might well have won.

You can make the argument that a return to a values-based platform is the way to go, that Palin is the future of the party grounded in an anti-abortion, conservative religious values sort of approach to governing.

I personally think that they are better off sticking in the center. Had it not been for the economy and the need to unglue things up in DC, and had it not been for Palin, I think the odds are that McCain would have won.

if mccain wasn't centrist i'm fairly sure he would have won. bush proved that the republican base can get you elected if you energize them. i'm still not convinced palin was the problem.

The economy was more than her, certainly. She actually energized his base for him, but hurt a little bit with the middle. Plus add in the Bush albatross.

My point is, as they move forward and try to get some excitement built back up, will it be her or someone more like McCain?

the only centrist that has a chance of winning is my governor and he can't run for president. hearing mccain talking about buying mortgages and heatlhcare credits sure didnt' energize me and i'm hardly a right wing conservative. this country is getting older and therefore will be getting more conservative. there is no doubt in my mind that the next president will be a conservative republican. i'm not sure mccain even wins the primary if bush wasn't such a screwup. 4-8 years a lot of this will be gone from american minds.

The party needs to give up all the social issue garbage that motivates its hardcore right-wing Christian crowd and be conservative fiscally, limit government and strong defense. Those are issues where the party has enormous support across the gambit of conservatives and republicans. Social garbage just detracts from the message.

That is exactly my point. But look at the first few posts above. There are a lot of Republicans who want the party to advance the social issues, even at the expense let's say, of putting forth someone who has the experience and expertise to focus on the fiscal conservatism.

i agree with bigpapavol. mccain's moderate economic views are what hurt him with conservatives, not his social views.

You are off base on this. Exit polls proved that a solid majority of Americans still align themselves with the conservative movement. These same people said the economy was the single biggest issue and they wanted change in Washington. Conservatives will be back.

I would be happy with that...

LG, why do you care? Really, why do you care?

Greta also interviewed Palin at the governor's office. Sarah mentioned that she will be going to a cabinet meeting to discuss the progress of the natural gas pipeline. I guess that escaped your notice.

So what if she's going through an image makeover? After some fraud masquerading as a McCain staffer lies through his teeth to Carl Cameron, she needs to engage in some form of damage control and an interview that portrays her in all aspects of her daily life will help.

again, why do you care?

Election is over.

And I was never "on the fence" about her. Recognized her as a dingbat the day she got picked.

I didn't see that. I am sure that Greta, of Fox News, asked her many tough questions about the pipeline and the meeting coming up. Such as what kind of cookies they were going to serve, etc.

There was a fraud pretending to be a McCain staffer who dreamed up all this? Wow, pretty creative guy. Got a link there, sport?

again, why do you care?

See the bolded within yours.

And I care because the last thing we need in today's world is another bumbling moron or worse yet, ideologue, to run the world.
