1) You do know you don't have to read every silly thread, right? And some people should be ignored, try it.

2) I literally chuckle every time one of you mentions recruits (or coaches or players) reading these boards . They really have so much more to do. And they don't care what a bunch of guys and girls with too much free time and an internet connection have to say. And the recruits that care about what we say when you suck at your job we probably don't want anyway.

Any evidence of this? And then what is the evidence that someone reads idiots on VN tell HT to kill himself and then bases real life decisions on that?

I don't think important people worry about what the 200 or so active users on this site that make up the majority of the content are saying. Which is good because they shouldn't.

Your individual fandom and how you manifest that has virtually zero impact on the field good or bad, unless you have a fat checkbook. I know that is something many people around here have trouble accepting.

While I understand the desire to hear only nice things about our beloved Vols, I suspect you work for one of the would be over lords of technology. Surprised at UTK you didn’t learn that Tennesseeans like to be free to speak their minds.

Either way, you no doubt are welcome in the Biden administration.

I would hope that recruits/parents would not consider anything on message boards to be a measure of anything since it is all faceless posts. As much as I really do not like some of the comments on this board, I certainly am not in favor of censorship. Freak does a great job in taking down truly distasteful and inappropriate posts. I've thought about a "dislike" or "thumbs down button", as has been mentioned by many others on this board relative to posts on any number of topics. I would use it to express my displeasure of posts that I think go too far. But on second thought, 200+ thumbs down for a particularly mean-spirited post that crossed the line to being almost a personal attack against some teenage athlete just might encourage some to be even more vile. I know I can ignore them. I'm just glad I grew up and lived much of my life before there was such a thing as social media that has come to be used in this way.
