To cap a weird day on Saturday at Missouri was the unedifying moment where Eli Drinkwitz "iced" our kicker on the last play whilst being up 36-9. Now I believe he felt it was payback for running up the score last season, but what he failed to understand was that due to the criteria of the playoff committee, Tennessee needed a big score to try to get into the playoffs, I believe it was nothing personal or disrespectful to Missouri and Drinkwitz.

Well, there was nothing riding on Saturdays game for Missouri once the game was won, so I just thought it said a lot about the man and it should be stored for another day.

I thought it looked worse for Tennessee attempting a fg at that point. It felt petty on our part. Let the clock runout and end the misery.

Good for Missouri for icing our kicker. It was a bad call by our Head Coach.

I respectfully disagree.

As we had been comprehensively beaten by then the only 3 options were kick a field goal, try for a touchdown (trying to artificially run up the score/maximum reduction of the loss) or take a knee (never see that by a losing team) , so in my opinion a field goal was the most respectful.

The FG try was dumb.

Couldnt disagree more

It was an oppto allow Campbell to add to his total points.

ED is simply a prick.

Yeah, I agree. Drink and his staff were pretty clearly butthurt about last year. I came across this the other day: https://atozsports.com/nashville/missouri-defensive-vols-after-news-tennessee/

What’s kind of funny is we were dropping the ball left and right, making mistakes, and still somehow managed to be within striking distance until the 4th quarter. I hope we can shore up the line of scrimmage this offseason and pay them back in full next season in Knoxville. I think a lot of the key pieces of their team are seniors.

You score 60+ on a team in back to back years and any/every eye poke from ED should be expected. Don't like it? Do something about it during the game. I've got a bigger problem with some of our antics after plays plus the hit, even if it was light, on the kneel down to end the game. That was just a bad look. You got your butt whipped and embarrassed on national TV then you pull a stunt like that. Give the defender credit. It was one of the harder hits of the day for this defense....not that there were that many to choose from.

It was 4th and 20. There weren’t a lot of good options
There was one battle left. We lost the war but we had 1 play we could win. I viewed taking a knee or the FG as surrender and missing the FG was karma.

Line up, take a shot at the end zone. If you score you walk off the field winning that play. If you don't score there is no loss of honor if you gave your all.

We all have opinions.

I got some Botch Jones vibes with trying a fieldgoal there. There was no face to be saved you got your teeth kicked down your throat all day. Just throw it out the back of the endzone then shoot dorkwitz a bird or 3....

Missouri wined and complained that Tennessee ran up the score the last two years and I said that it was their job to stop it.

This year Missouri runs up the score and I wanted them to score more just to make a point about poor game play, yet I don't really see any complaints here about the score being run up. It's our teams job to stop it.

Missouri is just not a program that understands much about football and I congratulate them on playing a great game, but they are still a secondary program and are nothing but a blind squirrel that has found a nut. Nothing more, nothing less.

I hope they enjoy the win and just get ready for next year as Nico is coming and he will be bringing H*** with him.
