Icing the kicker - really?

I have no problem with it.

I thought CJH was going for a FG so he could onside kick. I like a FG attempt better than 4 and goal (?) from the 20 whatever yard line.

I thought it looked worse for Tennessee attempting a fg at that point. It felt petty on our part. Let the clock runout and end the misery.

Good for Missouri for icing our kicker. It was a bad call by our Head Coach.
Kickers need live game reps too lol

We needed practice scoring TDs in the red zone than kicking FGs. There is no shame for taking one last shot at the end zone. But attempting a FG that trims the score to 36-10 instead of 36-7 was bush league. Our feeble offense needed practice scoring in the red zone, as evidenced by the game results and this final drive which started 1st and goal at the Mizzou 5 and ended up at the 23 thanks to a TFL and a penalty.

Why not take it as an opportunity to get in a pressure-less game rep? I see it has an opportunity to keep the kicker warm and in a rhyme instead of going 2 weeks between kicks in a game. The same people saying Nico or other younger guys should’ve gotten reps likely complain about the kicker getting reps.

If I was in his spot, I’d do everything in my power to limit the total points UT scored and make it hurt. Most people would. It’s a game, and the objective is to score as much as you can and to make sure the team scores as little as they can. Last year we talked about playing all out to the whistle, turn about is fair play. I was much more offended my the garbage I saw from our team.

I lost a lot of respect for Dinky for that move and his
remarks after the game. It just shows that he is not
accustomed to winning.

No doubt, it’s good for the kicker to get game reps. My opinion, that wasn’t the time or the place.

Crazy folks round here. Also those ignorant of the team as usual.

Our kicker is a finalist for the Groza award for the nations top kicker in NCAA. More points from kicks, better chance to win.

Also....Dinklips is an absolute goober that we hung 66 and 64 points on in the last 2 years both Home and Away. He got to experience BOTH his own crowd booing him at halftime at home...AND a long ride home to give a press conference after getting 60plus hung on his garbage team. Hahahaha. So they managed to soundly beat us by a decent margin yesterday when we IMPLODED offensively and defensively on the road . Missouri is like Kentucky. Little brothers of the VOLS. They are used to sucking and it shows, other than their occasional outburst like saturday. With the level we are recruting now landing top 10 classes every year, we will be worried about playoffs and Championships...not Missouri and Kentucky. That was ugly yesterday though...for Joe, Wright, and our defense to all have a bad game was painful to watch.

NEXT SEASON we will absolutely DESTROY them again...for the 3rd time in 4 years. They lose everyone that matters really from an old, veteran team...and we will have NICO at QB, a MUCH better offense AND a top 25 defense IN NEYLAND. We will destroy them next year at home....abd eachbyear after for a while. Missouri is like Kentucky. Little brothers of the VOLS.
Tennessee doesn’t play Missouri next season.

To cap a weird day on Saturday at Missouri was the unedifying moment where Eli Drinkwitz "iced" our kicker on the last play whilst being up 36-9. Now I believe he felt it was payback for running up the score last season, but what he failed to understand was that due to the criteria of the playoff committee, Tennessee needed a big score to try to get into the playoffs, I believe it was nothing personal or disrespectful to Missouri and Drinkwitz.

Well, there was nothing riding on Saturdays game for Missouri once the game was won, so I just thought it said a lot about the man and it should be stored for another day.
Drink wanting all that revenge he can get for them sixty point beat downs he's got over the last two years. Don't think there's any love lost between him & Hype.

You don't know much about the Missouri roster, even after looking at it supposedly. Burden will go NFL after next year. Cook is nowhere NEAR an NFL talent. He's having a good year, but NFL? That's just a dumbass statement. And it's too early to make any "fall back" predictions for next year. Especially in the era of the transfer portal and NIL.
Nowhere did I say I go on the web and look at the rosters. I look at the roster that the network who happens to be broadcasting the game puts up on the screen. There is no need for the type of harshness you put in your post. And as for your opinion of Cook, that's your opinion, and mine is different from yours. Have a good day, okay?
