I agree.

But the conservative side of that coin is tax cuts solve everything, morality is a government prerogative, and military brashness can solve all foreign problems. If you disagree you are a socialist, un-american, and/or a traitor.

Actually both sides see government as a tool of morality.

The left uses it to impose codes of social justice, multi-culturalism, hate crimes, etc. The left is all about using government to impose normative codes of conduct.

Interestingly, on your last point the tea party folks and town hall protesters were called the same things (except for socialists) by the left.

left isn't accustomed to seeing the right do the whiny rally thing. Didn't know what to say.

I assume you meant the right. I think normative is relative. Ideologies and agendas drive both sides with regard to codes of conduct.

Tea parties and townhall protests....whining conservatives. Whod've thought?

I don't think so. The right does is from the morality angle, but the left does it from the whiny, emotional, everyone deserves better angle. Government driven fairness is probably the best way to couch it.

hmmm, well both angles still make me want to puke.

I'm amazed that either angle gets the political attention it does. People wanting the government to enforce personal views or beliefs is just pathetic to me.

I would say Government Driven Entitlement would be a better term to use for the Lefts agenda

An American Redneck in London would make a heck of a comedy.
